| Whats weird about your stuff??
When you come to my house, and if you would like a glass of ice tea or water, you will be served with a "buffalo " glass. My best friends BF gave me about thirty glasses with buffalo on them. His buddy works at Sunoco, and had them left over. Supposed to be American wildlife, but all we got are buffalo. Between the men and boys and tile floors, we go through glasses, and I have learned not to really care (I hate drinking out of plastic), so as long as it s a "glass" glass, I am ok...Everyone that visits thinks the buffalo thing is a hoot. Plus the price was right....FREE dollars I also have a pair ofTexas longhorns mounted over my breezeway walkway. My dad, when he was alive, hung his hat every week on one of those longhorns. His hat is there now. I cant bear to take it down. |

Most of my everyday dishes, plates, cups, bowls, glasses all have words on them. The milk glasses say "milk"...the water glasses have "H2O" printed on them....my plastic microwave plates say "eat"....silly, but I like it. My friends even went as far as writing on paper plates with a sharpie the last time they had a BBQ so I would feel more comfortable in their home.

Everything in my house is old. Someone says I don't want/need this piece of c--p any more and I take it. I paint it, stencil, or do something with it. I have painted chairs all over the house. When I have a big dinner then everyone has to go find a chair and bring it to the dining room. I still have hand me downs I got from 40 years ago. My husband was having a hissy fit because I spray painted a table I use in our spare bedroom. I said, "What are you talking about? Someone gave me this table 40 years ago and that person used it in their basement to hold paint cans, and I am going to ruin it?". He is always worried about what someone else would think! Cheesh. Our bedside table is from my brother's house. They bought new furniture. I painted it the table with one color and then painted a quilted scarf with lace edging for the top. On the side toward my husband's side of the bed is a church with our anniversary date. He probably does not even know it! I love photography. I blow up any photo I like into a poster and put it where it makes me happy. When I go into the laundry room then I see a photo I took in Venice with laundry hanging across an alley. My husband has a poster of him climbing in the hills above Cinque Terre in his hunting room. Until we are ready to sell this house, we are the ones we have to please. I don't care if someone else thinks it is odd.

I have a black bathroom. I love it - it was already this way when I got it. However, I warn company before they use it, or it throws them. Believe me - it is somehow still pretty as far as bathrooms go, albeit somewhat unexpected. |

most likely you would find right away that I'm a kitchen gadget junkie! and I love to cook I have a metal cart with lots of canning jars on it with all different kinds of grains and seeds in them! other than that is the fact that I have a multi personality cat who rules the house! seriously he mouths off at you talks all the time but he will wander off to another part of the house and howl because he can't find you then I just call out I'm in here he will come running meowing away scolding me as to why I was gone! hes a mess but I love him! |

I have a garden flag by my front sidewalk that I change with the seasons (or moods) religiously. None of my neighbors have it, but they all seem to get a kick out of mine. Right now I have a cute one that says "Welcome To The Nuthouse", with 2 squireels peeking out of a tree. Also, come the fall, I decorate my entire house. The Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, then CHRISTMAS!! I'm pretty sure I decorate more than the average Joe. That's the only odd things I can think of.

Our cats have their own sink. Well, it's actually the bathroom sink that we've voluntarily relinquished to them. (for the most part) Unfortunately, we only have one bathroom. So, it's just easier to brush our teeth in the kitchen rather than fight for the faucet in the bathroom. Every time you go into the bathroom, the cats follow, wanting you to turn on the faucet. I think it all started with just wanting a fresh, cold drink from the tap. But, now it's become a ritual for 3 of them. (Those 3 are obsessed with rituals. LOL) And, it's not like they don't have water in their bowl (I clean and fill it twice a day), they just like it straight from the tap. We still use the bathroom sink to wash our hands, but that's it. And, the silver lining is that I don't ever catch them licking the kitchen faucet anymore! ![]() Quote:

I have a mannekin pis (peeing boy) fountain in my back yard. I also have a men's room (just a urinal and a sink). I put sharpies on the back of the urinal and the guys can write on the walls. The other 2 bathrooms have duel flush toilets. devinmom....I bet your bathroom is very striking and classy looking! Can I come over and see it? LOL Last edited by freer; 06-06-2008 at 04:24 PM. |

devinmom, is it a PITA to wash the towels?? I bought dark green to match our travel trailer interior, and I cant really wash them with anything but themeselves |

The urinal is great. I highly recommend installing one. Mine was a tiny bathroom off the laundry room, so it was perfect for a *mens* room. The duel flush toilets have 2 buttons on top, one for a soft flush (.9 gal) and the other one for necessary bigger flushes. (I think it's 1.6 gal.) Our water bills are half what they were.

| Cats in Sinks - for all your cat and bathroom needs Not just your cats! Mine mostly hang out on top of the kitchen cupboards, which, of course requires a hop onto the counter first. Oddly enough, my very fastidious MIL accepted that after she got a dog. It's not like I don't wash the counters before I use them anyway, and their landing spot is with the mail, not with the food prep. |
