Anyone installed pool liner

Has anyone installed a pool liner? Our pool liner went bad in our 15X30 oval pool and we are needing to replace it and was wondering how hard this is and if we want to tackle it ourselves or hire someone. Any advice would be great.

Never done it ourselves nor would we consider it. It takes the pro long enough to install, I can only imagine what a mess we'd make of it and how long it would take. We have a 24 round Doughboy.

We were told since we have the sand already packed for the pool since it has been there for 14 years and if we purchased a bottom pad it is not so hard but I am also skeptical. They want $1000.00 to install. I just don't know if I want to put that much into a 14 year old pool.

We have installed liners a couple of times. The first time we did it we had about six people to help. You really need to have several pairs of hands in order to install a new liner. It took us about two hours. You should get instructions with the liner. We had one person actually get in the pool to help smooth it out. We put about two inches of water in the bottom and worked the wrinkles out of it. It really wasn't that difficult, it just took a little time to complete. Good Luck...

We just installed ours this morning, it took us about 3 hours to get the liner just right to start filling it with
some kind of water , getting the wrinkles out is a harder thing to do but that is where the shop vac comes
in handy, my dh found some place online that gave fantastic directions and it helps if you have saw
one get installed.
This is our 3rd liner so I did see our other 2 installed and it sorta helped and the other people helping
installed their own.
We paid 2 years ago 300.00 to have one installed a grand sounds steep, if you get it installed
see about a warrenty and dont give cash.

Last night we shut the shop vac off and took off most of our clothespins and this morning our liner started to sag 1/2 way down
so we had to go around and redo the clothespins and the shop vac I hope this works or we are tearing it out.

Thanks for all the help. We actually installed our pool liner this past weekend. It was not to difficult once we got started. I am so happy that job is behind us but it looks beautiful and can't wait to start using it.
