Go Big Brown!

I really want to see this guy win the Triple Crown. He is such a nice looking horse.
Would be nice to see the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years too.

Updates? He should have run by now - and I missed it. Did the little guy win?

Found this online-

Long Island's favorite horse failed miserably in his quest to become the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years when he pulled up and finished last in a huge upset in the 140th Belmont Stakes on Saturday at Belmont Park.

Da'Tara, a 38-1 longshot, was the wire-to-wire winner.

No he didn't win Something happened and the jockey pulled him back. They are keeping pretty quiet about it. They say there is nothing wrong. I was watching him he was blowing pretty hard so I am wondering if he was having respitory issues with the long run and the heat. I am very sorry he lost but darn did anyone see the winner run wow he deserved to win he put his whole heart into it and I think he had more in him if he needed it.

I didn't watch it, but was sorry to hear that he didn't win. I heard on the news that they are checking him out to see what might be wrong with him. I hope he'll be ok. I'm glad that the jockey pulled him back and was easy with him. I'm glad he didn't push him or we may have had another situation like Eight Belles. I saw pictures on the news of the demonstrators out there opposed to racing and the treatment of the horses...which is a whole other subject altogether. My Mom said that the trainer looked a wreck after the disappointing loss. I wonder if he bet everything he had on him? He seemed certain that he would win. Yikes. ~Lisa
