Red face Baby Shower Ideas?

Hi

I need some ideas for a baby shower. This will be the couple's first child and it's a boy. We haven't given any showers in a while and I'd like some cute, original ideas for it. They are doing their nursery in Winnie the Pooh (primary colors) and kind of want the shower to reflect that theme. Actually, the mom-to-be wanted the shower theme to be "bees" (?!) and colors in yellow and black (!). We couldn't find a whole lot for that, so we continued the Pooh theme as well. Any ideas for decorations, food and games would be appreciated! They don't have to be Pooh, just any basic shower ideas. Thanks very much!

I went to a huge baby shower on Sunday and these are a few of the things they did.

They had a board set up with tiny diapers and each one (they had 4) had a melted candy bar inside. You would open up and look but your could not smell. You wrote your guesses and put the slip of paper in a box. Then they drew names until they got one that was right on all four candy bars.

We were handed blank bingo cards. They had numbered all the gifts and told us to number our cards from 1 to 45 ( she had a lot of gifts). Then as she opened gifts they would call out the number on the package. The first 4 people that got a bingo got a prize.

The invitation said if you brought a pack of diapers you would be entered into a drawing. They had tickets and a box set out for that. As people arrived they filled out their own name and dropped it in the box. She ended up with a ton of diapers maybe 20 or 30 packages. I noticed that most of them were newborn. I hope she doesn't have a big baby. LOL If you choose to do something like this I would put different sizes on the invitations.

We also did the string around the tummy game. They had it all set up where you cut your string and stuck a name tag to it and put it in another box. Then she measured he tummy and found the winning string as everyone was eating lunch.

We did the Bingo game at the last one I gave, but instead of numbering the gifts, they filled out their card with different baby items and when she opened the gift, if you had it on your card, you put an X on it.

Diaper cakes are really popular (diapers put together in the shape of a cake with baby itmes included). I know of a website that does these types of cakes in the Pooh theme. Email me if you would like more information.

Also, I have played the games where you give each person a diaper pin to wear when they come to the shower and if somone hears them say the word baby they get their pin. The one with the most at the end wins. Good luck!

My favorite games are the clothespin game you give everyone a clothes pin as they come in when someone catches another person crossing their legs they get the pin. You can use safety pins but clothespins don't wreck clothes.

You take the toilet paper, send the Mom to be out of the room and each person tears off how much t.p. they think will go around her.

Those are my two favorite games.

You can google there are so many ideas my head is spinning. Try googling "baby shower games" "baby shower menus" "how to have a good baby shower" etc.
