Hate those CFL bulbs??? Need a dimmable bulb????

I was reading something the other day in the dentist's office, about LED bulbs, and thought this might be helpful for the people who don't like the CFL bulbs.

I will be looking for these myself, as I seem to blow out these often.
  • Fully dimmable – LEDs do not change their color tint when dimmed unlike incandescent lamps that turn yellow

That is nifty. I have a headlamp with an LED bulb. It has had many hours put on it and I've never once had to change the one AA battery. These bulbs use very little energy and also don't get hot (similar to CFL). Thanks for sharing.

I did a google search, and found this:

Led light bulbs, Led lighting, Energy saving light bulbs

as well as tons of other sights. They are a bit pricey, but, if you buy one or two at a time that might be a good way around the sticker shock, or if anyone got the stimulis rebate, that would be a good way to use it.

there are also some on Ebay. HTH.

How do you convert the size of the bulb or whatever the LEDs go by, to watts??? Like if you want the equivelant of a 60W bulb, what size/kind of LED would you get???

From what I "think" I know, I believe there isn't actually an LED bulb that matches a 60W bulb. Most LED bulbs will tell you how many watts they use. Most of places that sell these bulbs will tell you what watt bulb they would match. I was looking to use these in low traffic areas, where bright light isn't necessary, such has hallways. They do not put off as much light as a normal or CFL lightbulb. I know it's not a lot of info, sorry, been up three nights in a row with youngest and I'm not allowed caffeine!

HTH some.
