Calling all prayer warriors - It's just breaking on the news that a tornado has hit a Boy Scout Camp in an area close to Sioux City. Reports are that 30-40 are injured with up to 4 possible fatalities. This just breaks my heart. Four confimed dead.

That is so heartbreaking. I will keep those families in my prayers.

It seems Iowa is taking the brunt of these storms. (Not to mention Wisconsin).

We heard about this a couple of hours ago, my husband was so upset (he was a Scout Leader).

So very, very sad.

What is going on with this weather in our midwest??? Scary.

This is somewhat near us. They have been interviewing an 18 year old who was there on the Omaha tv station. Omaha is on the Iowa line and they took a number of the injured to Omaha. He said they were in a shelter and a fireplace collapsed on a number of the kids. That is how the four were killed. He was there as a counselor and was filming the camp week for them. He was outside taking pictures of the lightening and saw the rotation. He ran to tell them to sound the sirens. They did - and the kids got to the shelters. It's just awful listening to him. He and some other kids took shelter in a ditch. His description of trying to help the kids in the shelter where the children died is just so tragic.

There are a number of tornadoes taking place in Nebraska still right now. Very, very scary stuff out there right now. They have detected a huge rotation near Tecumsah, NE, and it appears to be a large rain-wrapped tornado.

They think this one was a rain wrapped tornado also. CNN carried quite a bit of it live at 9:00 CST. My heart just breaks for those families!!!

Oh my gosh, how horrible. The kids must have been so scared. And the parents...can you imagine the ride they have to take to get the the camp! Must be the hardest drive of their lives.

Prays to all.

My son was suppose to be at camp this week. ( not that one) And I am so glad that he didn't go. WE have had levee's breaking all around us and major flooding. He would have been stuck there.

I have been crying off and on all week. My son is in Scouts and often goes to Little Sioux. Thankfully, his troop is canoeing the boundary waters in Northern Minnesota this week, so he is safe...but I can't wait until he is home. Two nights before he left a tornado ripped through our area of town, and destroyed houses only a few blocks from ours. Then the camp in Iowa. I can't take anymore and want him home!
