Drunk Baby Born '15 Times' Over the Limit

Wouldn't a blood alcohol level of 0.29 percent in a newborn cause massive brain damage? (15 times Poland's legal limit and 3 1/2 times US). 0.29 percent is a so much higher limit than most adults have when they're falling down drunk!

I would guess that if the mother had been drinking all throughout the pregnancy that perhaps the baby developed a high tolerance for alcohol the same way maybe an alcoholic can.Lots of people drink alcohol with no damage to internal organs so I would think that its possible for a baby to not have any damage either. They don't see any apparent damage so maybe the baby will be fine.

How sad, I'm sure the baby will have some kind of developmental side-effect from this - I'm sure this was not just a one time deal, the baby has probably had alcohol in it's system since it was conceived. I don't know if there has ever been testing on the effects of alcohol on developing brain cells, but I'm sure it could not be good.

She should be locked up. I can't even imagine what she was thinking to be doing something like that. Some people just don't deserve to have children.

That is really awful. You know if she was drunk during labor, she probably drank all through her pregnancy as well. Someone needs to sew her legs shut!
