10 year old boy almost sexual assaulted in Walmart

This is one of the most shocking stories I've read. It's unbelievable that this pervert continue to try to assault this boy even after his cousin ran to get help! Thank God the mother was able to get to her son in time!

Apparently the mother was just outside the bathroom when her son was attack.......Video link WSFA 12 News Montgomery, AL |Boy Nearly Sexually Assaulted in Montgomery Shopping Center

************************************************** *********

Montgomery, Al. (WSFA) -- We go to stores like Wal-Mart all the time to buy groceries or run errands.

The safety of our children, however, usually isn't the first thing on our minds while cruising the aisles of a local store.

Montgomery police say a Michael Boykins, 35, took advantage of those lowered defenses,
attacking a 10 year-old boy in the bathroom of the Ann Street Wal-Mart.

Authorities say Boykins fought to rip the boy's pants and shirt off, while the victim's 8 year-old cousin tried desperately to stop him.

"He went outside and brought the mother back inside the bathroom, and she was able to intervene," explained Captain Huey Thornton of the Montgomery Police Department.

News of the crime comes as a complete shock--and a rude awakening--to local families like the Larisceys of Montgomery.

"It has happened in my family, and it's very personal," said Jennifer Lariscey.

With the horrific story, however, comes a shimmer of hope.

When Boykins tried to flee the scene, local patrons tackled the man and held him until police arrived.

It's something father Adam Lariscey says should be common sense.

"You just never know, in this time, what you're dealing with, but you've got to do what's right to protect the ones that are innocent and can't protect themselves," he explained.

Still, police urge parents to keep a close eye on their kids, especially in busy places--advice many parents already take to heart.

"[My daughter's] never out of my sight. Never," Jennifer Lariscey explained.

NOTE: Police say the victim was unharmed. The suspect, Michael Boykins, is in the Montgomery County Detention Facility with no bond. Boykins is charged with 1st Degree Attempted Sexual Abuse.

That is just sick! I'm so glad the cousin ran to get the mom and that she was right outside the door. This one reminds me of the one a few years ago where the little boy went into the restroom at a playground (I think) and a relative couldn't figure out why the little boy was in there so long and they found him stabbed to death and sexually assaulted. This one could have ended so much worse and I'm so glad it didn't. The poor little fellow will have nightmares for a long time. I'm surprised the shoppers who tackled the pervert didn't just beat the crap out of him right there!! (I think if I'd been that mom he wouldn't have lived to get into that police car!)

Things like this make me so angry! Our children can't even be children anymore!

This is one reason why I would NEVER complain about a boy being in the ladies room. I take my boys all of the time, they are quiet fast and not rude. We wait for each other by the sink (if there is no family bathroom available). I have noticed the family bathrooms are mostly taken by rude people waning "privacy", kinda like the handicapped scooters at Disney are always taken by fat people (dont flame, I am pretty plus ((fat))sized myself), and the real handicapped are using the ones you power yourself. I walk my sorry large behind every where I go,
Thank God nothing happened. Once, when we were in Canada (Niagara), my DH took my youngest son to the mens room, and the man next to him was staring at my sons privates. I was//am creeped out, and will never forget that...(dh just got him out of there and said to the guy "what is YOUR problem") but the thoughts of it make me sick sick sick...

I always stand in the doorway and talk to my kids while they use the bathroom. DS1 gets embarrassed but I don't care. I always ask them if there is anyone else in the bathroom, then check on them after a min.

My son is 9 and I still take him with me if DH is not with us. I really dont care what people think about it. The way I look at it, the womens restroom has stalls.
I have had a few people give me a dirty look for it, But my sons safety is all that matters.

Until my little boy is about 12, I will take him with me to the bathroom, If anyone has a problem, then a manager can escort me to the restroom also but I won't let my kids out of my sight. My little boy is five. If someone hurt him, I would never be the same again and I would taunt the nut that almost hurt him. I hope the guy that did that to the little boy spends a good time in prison and word gets out what he did. I heard prisons inmates are not fond of child molesters.

I hope he gets what he deserves!!

Sad thing is, I don't see too many mothers bring in their son (5 & up) into the lady's room...A lot of them will wait by the men's bathroom or send a older kid into the restroom to accompany the smaller child.

Having a boy in the women's bathroom is no big deal to me, unless he's peeking under the stalls -- but NO kid should be doing that.

I think one of the more important things to teach a kid is that when there are other people around, getting attention is maybe your best defense. Scream something embarrassing, throw yourself on the floor, and don't fear being looked at -- you want that. I had a man following me in his car when I was walking to a bus stop and he left FAST when I shouted out that I was underage.

I took my son with me till he was 9. Now he is almost as tall as me and he is 11. So now I wait by the bathroom and yell in every couple mins to make sure he is okay... it embarrasses him so bad. But I really don't care

Thank God the other customers got involved and restrained this creep until the police arrived. And thank God for the cousin being there to get help, and that the mom was waiting right outside the door. This could have had a tragic outcome. It's bad enough that the little boy will be dealing with what did happen for the rest of his life. Thankfully it wasn't worse. I agree with the others who have said that it's fine for boys to go in the ladies room as long as they behave while they're there.

I am horrified just thinking about my little fella one day going to the bathroom in public. He's only 19 months now, and I'm thinking he will be going to the women's for A LONG time. I think I would do my best to kill an idiot that tried any crap with my son.
