We had to have some special sizes for our blinds, and I got my faux wood blinds from JcPenney. They were quite expensive, but they are WONDERFUL, look like real wood and I know will last much longer.

There is nothing like real wood, but our dog and my concerns with warping, led me to the faux wood blinds (can't remember what they are called). Check out JcPenney!

I've also had good luck with blindstogo.com. I ordered colored regular blinds, and also faux wood blinds.
I got faux wood ones from Lowe's as well, a faux wood verticle for my back slider door, and they came to install. Price was not unreasonable as I remember (it was a year and a half ago).

Mine are Kirsch (Just looked at the blinds). I know that I really wanted levalor, but I think that either they didn't make the big one for my dining room, or they were much more expensive, can't remember.

I really like them, although I would still have rather had the real wood

I want to also mention I got them for 70% off during a sale at JcPenney, but I did find some great deals on this website as well:

2 1/2" Faux Wood Blinds, Faux Wooden Blinds

I know that we got the 2 1/2" slats, but not sure what made them more expensive than these. I know I did extensive research on the wood blinds, to find what material I wanted. I can't remember if they are composite or PVC or what....but there was something about them that made them $700 AFTER the 70% off for four blinds.

I think it might have been the custom sizes?

Either way, you will love them! I do know that you need to do your research as to what material is good, if you are going with faux, because there is something about one of the faux materials that is not good (can't remember! ugh!)

JCPenney has great sales. I just bought the 2 1/2" faux wood blinds @ JCP two weeks ago for $23.00/set. They look great and are easy to clean. Checked blindsgalore.com a few minutes ago & what appears to be the same thing is $71.00 on their site.

If you can find what you want @ JCP, buy something small first. Flip the receipt over & complete their online survey. That will get you an additional 15% discount on your blind purchase.

Domestications is also a good place to buy wooden/faux wood blinds. I bought them for my son's room from them and they're really reasonably priced and look great.

We bought our faux wood blinds at Home Depot. I really like them. They look just like wood. I don't have to worry about them warping from moisture.

Home Depot does have some really great looking faux wood blinds, not that costly either.

I looked at the faux wood at justblinds.com about a year ago. I ordered one for a lower level window. They were very nice. It seems like the prices were pretty good at that time.

Only slightly off topic..I'm looking at the mylar solar shades. Has anyone used these or have any thoughts on them?
