I've used Open Office for several years and prefer it to Word. I especially appreciate the ability to PDF things!

It is, isn't it?

I always get very annoyed with Bill Gates when Windows updates and re-sets my preferences so that documents open in Word instead of OO. lol

The only component of Open Office that I haven't fully investigated is the PowerPoint counterpart. It looks pretty simple, but I do know it didn't want to run a presentation I'd created in PP quite right.

Otherwise, the spreadsheets and text documents are fabulous. I love the way tables get inserted - and graphics, too!

For those unaware, OO is made by the same community of developers who do things like Mozilla and Thunderbird.

It's an awesome piece of software!
