Has anyone ever heard of/worked for Virtual Office Temps. The website is
VOT: Virtual Office Temps Administrative Services & Virtual Assistants: work at home positions are available! ? I got on their email list awhile back but I don't remember where I found out about them. I wasn't seriously looking for a job until recently so I was just deleting their emails before. But now I am actively looking for a job. I'm trying to find out more info on them, if they are legit or not and if people actually get work before I spend a lot of time applying for jobs with them.
Or does anyone know any other places to find work? I really need to find a work-at-home job or night shift. I homeschool our daughter so a regular day job is out of the question, plus we only have 1 car and can't afford another one. I have a BS in Accounting and worked 10 years as an accountant prior to dd being born, you would think I could find some bookeeping or tax work I could do at home, but I've had no luck. So I'm looking for most anything at this point. Dh had surgery and was out of work and/or working only part-time for the past year so the bills are piling up. We have cut our expenses to the bare bones. I use coupons, answer surveys, get the freebies, etc. I don't know what else I can do.
I had one job answering phones/taking orders for a home shopping channel but it didn't work out. I'm just not cut out for that type of work. I got dinged too much for not following the script, but the customers would clearly say they weren't interested in any extras, warranties, etc. and I just think it's wrong to keep asking them over and over when they've already said no. I really tried to follow the script, but people would get upset, so I wouldn't continue to ask. You would think they would want happy customers, but I guess selling all the extras is more important and profitable to them. Plus I got one weirdo call in that really freaked me out. So between that and hardly getting any calls because of my low rating it just wasn't worth it.
I've sold some things on ebay, mainly just stuff from around the house and a few Target clearance items. I'd like to do more of that, but I'm not good at knowing what will sell and I can't afford to be stuck with things not selling or losing $. Plus with just the one car I can't get out to garage sales, Target, etc. very often.
Thanks for any help.
