Dermablend...

Has anyone used this product? What do you think about it? I have this little spot on my face...Not sure if it's from the sun, hormones, or aging. I use foundation and Max Factor Panstick or Cover Girl cover stick...it covers it a bit, but a few hours later, there it is again. I was considering buying some of this at Ulta this week. I believe J.C. Penney's might sell it also. Let me know if you are pleased with it or do you think it's a waste of money. Thanks. ~Lisa

I get dark spots on my face, not moles, more of a dark patch, one near my right cheek, and another over my lip (looks like a moustache if I dont do anything about it, but it is discolored skin, most likely from sun damage and years of smoking damage (i am off cigarettes eight years)) or possibly hormones.
My Dr prescribes Hydroquinone 4% cream. it bleaches the dark spots....I have two different types, one that contains a sunscreen. and a thicker version I use when I get the darkening (mostly above my lip) The thicker one I use only at home when its bad, because I walk around with a white moustache (the cream) that cracks my family up. he one with the sunscreen I wear under my bare minerals makeup like a mousturizer (only on the spots)
I know nothing about dermablend, but I can tell you about the few hundred dollars worth of stuff I have tried before I called my dr (he just called it in, I didnt even have to see him), including home chemical peels

Meh to Dermablend. In order for it to cover well, it needs to be thick, and well-blended, so it would be more suited to a scar on your arm, say, than a mark on your face. However, if you're curious, since it might be better for you than me, absolutely try Ulta. They tend to be excellent with helping you try out makeup without being pushy (they usually have general makeup artists, rather than ones who work for specific brands), and can have some good advice. See if you can sign up for their flyers, too, since usually have $3.50 off $10 or 20% off one item coupons, which help a lot with more expensive makeup. Oh, and I also know that standard Dermablend is meant to be used with a special lotion and setting powder. To the best of my knowledge, a facial moisturizer and translucent powder should be as good, and cheaper.

Your dark spots on your face are called hyperpigmentation....can be from sun damage or women who have given birth often get these. I know from workikng with Dermablend you have to use the setting powder, its water proof as well. I have covered tattoos on customers with this product as well as used it for people that have had face surgery to cover the bruising. Hope this helps

Thats it Buttercup, I have hyperpigmentation....and have dropped out a few kids
the hydroquinone 4% actually bleaches the spots out (they will reappear if you go in the sun unprotected) , instead of covering...worth asking about
