"Nicole Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban, have welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, born Monday morning in Nashville, PEOPLE has confirmed.

"Husband Keith was by Nicole's side, and mother and baby are very well," said spokesman Paul Freundlich, who added that the couple were "delighted" to make the announcement. He also said the baby girl weighed 6 lbs., 7.5 oz."


I know she wanted to have a biological child for a long time.

That is good news. I live close to them and have actually seen them in a Nashville restaurant - did not disturb them to ask for autograph - she is gorgeous in person and looks at least 8 years younger than she really is. Keith isn't hard on the eyes either, lol. I hope they enjoy this time with their newborn.

I am thrilled for both of them! I am a huge Keith Urban fan. He has really battled many demons in the past and finally seems to have found the happiness he deserves. They will make a beautiful family.....

The last photos I saw of Nicole, she hardly looked pregnant

I hope she spends more time with this one than she does with her adoptive kids!

I am happy to hear she had a girl and all is well, but what is it about the names celebrities are coming up with lately? Sunday???

I know!!! When I first read it, I thought the baby's first name was Rose and that she was born on Sunday!!! But Sunday Rose?

I did too! And then I read it again and it said she was born on Monday. Doesn't take much to confuse me, esp on a Monday......

I am not sure about the reason behind the name Sunday. I know that raining on Sunday is one of Keiths favorite songs to sing at his concerts, not sure if there is a connection or not?? His grandmothers name was Rose, so I am assuming that might be the reason behind the name Rose....

I think Tom Cruise might have something to do with that. I have seen photos, up until she became advanced in her pregnancy, with the kids in Nashville, Sidney and at baseball games. I really think those kids are scientology brainwashed

Me too...I was thinking the same thing...I read that they spend most of their time with Tom's sister...I'm happy for Nicole and Keith...I do like him alot better than her...I hope he stays sober and doesn't revert back to his old ways...He seems to be doing really good now and I'm happy about that...Yes, Sunday is quite a bizarre name...When I saw the headline that they named it after a day of the week, I thought it would be Tuesday, like the actress Tuesday Weld...I did know a girl growing up whose name was Wednesday... ~Lisa

Well, I wonder if maybe the baby was 'conceived' to "Raining on Sunday", ha ha... We never have heard anything about her having to use other means to get pregnant than the old fashioned way, have we? He totally gets into that song when he sings it and I think he even mentioned that it was one of his favorites, along with "Stupid Boy".

Just saw Keith at our company's employee concert in June. He puts on a great show and seems like a down to Earth guy. I'm just glad that Nicole went on to find true love (I suppose anyway as you never really know after all...) and has a baby of her own now. Isn't it funny how we all thought that Tom Cruise was 'all that' years ago and now most everyone thinks he's just plain crazy/weird?! I think Nicole probably hit the jackpot getting out of that relationship (with Tom) after all is said and done. I also think that it appears that Tom tends to keep the kids they have together away from Nicole; I have read that it's because Nicole never got into the Scientology religion (?) like Tom did and doesn't practice it (Didn't I read she's Catholic? Could be wrong about that though.). Of course, you can't believe everything you read so who knows.

Nicole is indeed Catholic, so is Keith. They are planning on having Sunday baptised by the same church in Australia that they married in!

So true...I used to think he was the best...Now, I just think he's a nut job...Maybe it's all that I read about him and his Scientology beliefs, how they say he tries to control Katie, etc. He is just so different than "back in the day"...I still think he has the most beautiful smile though! ~Lisa
