How low will you go?

Me, I am a crewneck tee-shirt kind of gal... partly because I try not to expose my skin to the sun (allergic to sunscreen).

I've been looking at People Magazine and see so many celebrity women wearing really low cut summer tops.

How low will you comfortably go?

that depends on where I am going. I usually wear a v-neck shirt if I'm out running errands and such. If I'm home, then if my bra straps are covered up, I'm good. I basically don't have a lot of boobage exposed, but, sometimes , well, I just can't help it.

I'm pretty conservative....at work. No cleavage showing, but no turtlenecks either (well, in winter yes). Now if I'm camping or cleaning the house I wear tank tops or whatever feels the most comfy. Let the cleavage show!! (hey if you got 'em, flaunt 'em!)

Mind if I sidetrack this thread a little? How about your teenage daughters? I am shocked at how low some of the necklines are. I don't have a daughter, but there is no way on this green earth I'd let a teenage girl out of the house in some of the tops I see.

I usually just wear reg. T-shirts/tank tops/hoodies. I'll go lower, but there's nothing to show, I have no cleavage

I typically don't show any cleavage on a usual day. However, I have a couple low cut tops specifically for when DH and I go out on a date - which doesn't happen very often, but he likes them and they make me good when we go out together.

I have 2 dds - 14 & 11. The style is camis and tanks. The 14 year old lives in them. (11 yo is a tomboy). She does show a little cleavage (she doesn't have much), but nothing more. DH comments about it sometimes, but I think what she wears is tasteful.

Normally I don't show a lot of cleavage during the day. I do wear lots of tanks so if you are taller than me (wouldn't take much LOL), then yes, I guess you could see cleavage. At night, going out, I show a lot. I am a "flaunt them while I got them". As long as they still *look good*, I'll show them. I saw a women out a few weeks ago in a really low cut top and the "girls" were quite wrinkled and it did NOT look good. I told my DH., don't you EVER let me out of the house looking like that!

My DD is only 7 but *I* was not allowed to show cleavage when I was a teen except at the beach in a swimsuit. I have a chest so it's kinda hard not too. I think that girls show too much too young. I won't allow it. I think if schools would send girls home who show cleavage at school, it would send a good message. Of coarse, they don't have time/energy/administration to enforce anything. I know a couple of girls in my neighborhood who are 12 and dress to school like they have an audition on "Rock of Love"...makes me sick

I love low-cut tops. I look better in them and feel better in them. I usually wear low V-necks or square necks. I hardly ever wear t-shirts with a regular neck. If I wear them around the house, I'll cut the sleeves out of them and the neck!

It takes a padded wonderbra for me to HAVE cleavage. I usually wear a wife-beater style tanktop ot a babydoll tee.

As for teenagers... my niece (16) is a 36C and she wears low-cut everything. Her parents are constantly throwing away tank tops that she buys with her money.

I'm not comfortable showing any cleavage. DD is 15 and well endowed and she will not show cleavage. It's a challenge shopping, however, it is doable.

I like the bald headed twins to constantly fight their way out into the sunlight.

LOL

I go very low but I have the boobulas the cleavage the personality and the great support push up bra to carry it off!

When we are swimming and/or camping in a private place no top for me! I have brown breasteses and I love them!

My family has a love reltaitonship with our kubungas. We have always highlighted them and we are short big busted and round butted so low cut looks most flattering on us.

I make an effort not to look obscene. That sounds judgmental, but I've got enough to show that it's not hard to look sleazy, so I try to keep covered. If you're small enough to show a bit, and look okay like that, I envy you!

I dress pretty boring. I don't mind showing a bit of cleavage, but don't have a lot of tops to accentuate the "girls." I do have a couple of tops that go quite low, but end up wearing a camisole under those.

I wear both, but do feel more comfortable and attractive in low cut tops, so tend to wear them a lot!

Annadrose, I just enjoyed your post so much! I'm so inspired by your unabashed philosophies on 'the girls' as well. Good for you!

As for me, I have to work hard to tread that fine line between sexy and sleazy. I have a little too much to get away with casually throwing on a little top. The layered tank top look is almost doable for me. I don't like it when I can see the eyes of anyone talking to me work their way down to that area, so it's best to not call the attention in the first place (for me).

I like to wear v-necks but even if they go a little lower than they should, I don't have the cleavage to make them look inappropriate. And, a lot of times I will go ahead and put on a tank underneath just for modesty although I don't always because I hate to wear two tops during the summer. Ugh.

Here is the photo that I am referring to... It just made me wonder if people dress like this for every day. I guess so, after reading the replies above!

Ha! That's funny. We went to DQ the other night and there was a teenage girl wearing a hot pink dress like that. DH couldn't believe it! He's like "I thought she had a swimming suit coverup on but it's not - it's a dress!"

My couple of low cut shirts are nothing like that! It just shows a little cleavage on the top, not the entire middle of my boobs!!!

Yes I would wear something like this. I have things that go this low. I don't wear them on a daily basis and could not wear them to work but I love this look and this dress is really cute.

haha when I saw the title of this thread I thought, geez here we go again, what are the mc people arguing about now - LOL

and, I don't go too low..I do like vnecks and might show a teeny bit of cleavage but wouldn't be caught dead wearing that thing that whatsername is wearing in the picture - well maybe inside my house on a hot day! I would not wear that out in public though, I would be hanging out all over and it would just look sleazy on me.
But, vnecks are flattering on me and I think the vneck look is flattering to most women.

NO, I would not wear that. A bra is a MUST for me. I'm sorry, but, that does not look attractive to me......sagging boobs are not something I would want to flaunt.

I wear my bathing suit around town on days that are in the upper 90s and higher. Now mind you it has a little skirt that covers my thighs and rear end and the halter top totally covers my stomach but it's pretty low cut not showing as much as that dress but pretty close. It covers more than the summer clothes many people wear.
We live in a very small rural town the kind you drive through on vacation and stop at the store for a cold drink and snack and say "I wonder what's it like living here"
I also wear it to town on these scalding hot days. And of course I am wearing a really cute pair of nice sandals or platform flipflops.
One thing I notice is that the disapproving looks usually come from people who don't look good. People who don't fix themselves up and who wear ill fitting clothes I have noticed (generally speaking) look at people who look good with sour looks on their faces. I am not talking about me I am talking about everyone who looks good: teenagers, well dressed and groomed men, women in nice shoes, lower cut tops, modern clothes, etc. The people who look good usually smile and are friendly.
Maybe further proof that when you're in a good mood you look better or when you look better you're in a good mood? It's like the chicken and the egg.

Annadrose, you might want to re-think the bathing suit in the grocery store. Clinton and Stacy would SO not approve.

I have thought about that LOL. I just know the day I wear the crappy clothes is the day I get busted LOL.

Here is me in my bathing suit top with a black scooter

Not too bad for an almost fifty yr old woman! (if I may say so myself)

I have lost quie a bit of weight I have not weighed myself since the last time but I am having fun with it as you can see!

Wow, Anna, you do look young. However, I still stand by my original stance that wearing a bathing suit around town is tacky. Maybe you could throw on a cover-up.

DH and his friends always point out that "most" middle-aged women who walk around with their boobs hanging out do not have the prettiest faces so they want guys to focus on their boobs instead of their faces

I think it's kind of mean, but I have to admit that a lot of the time they're right.

Annadrose, I must say - it's high time you ditch your avatar! You are too cute for such an image (that, unfortunately, I've been picturing every time I read your posts - LOL!)

I think your bathing-suit-around-town style is just fine. Most of us don't have the "kubungas" to pull that look off...
