at first i thought omg! how funny b/c i thought it didnt move anymore then that, then after that whole thing collapsed on him I was freaked out. Is this for real or someone good with a computer? I hope they find out if that guy is ok!

Truck/Travel Trailer Crashes Texas State Bank- July 2, 2008

At approximately 3 PM, Tuesday, July 2, a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, pulling a new travel trailer, hit the corner of the Texas State Bank Drive-In on Tenaha Street, causing the complete awning to come to the ground. Luckily, the driver of the Dodge, Mickey Miller, of Garrison and his 10 year old son were able to exit their vehicle uninjured.

According to Miller he was circling the bank to park on the other side when the corner of his travel trailer caught the corner of the bank awning. Next thing he heard was a rumble as the awning started falling against his driver's side door. Somehow he was able to unbuckle the seat beat and exit the other side of his truck as it was falling.
Mark Ivy of Texas State Bank stated that the main lobby would be open for business while the drive-in is being repaired. For more photos Click Here

OMG.....dh and I picked up our new trailer this past Saturday and we avoided going under an overpass on our road cuz we weren't sure we'd fit!! (we fit with our old trailer)

Glad to see the guy and his son got out ok.

A friend of my parents did something like this. She was an older woman and not quite thinking right. She took her small camper through a fast food drive thru. She took out the awning and her AC unit on the top of the camper but nothing that bad. I am sure this kind of thing happens more than anyone would like to admit.

I am so glad you told us everyone was unhurt.

Oh gosh, I would have liked to have heard what his insurance agent had to say about THAT!

If you watch the video closely, you can tell that the entire truck doesn't get hammered by the full force or the awning...just the driver's side.

Ok I'm an awful person. I didn't even think the guy could have been injured. I thought it was funny.

Watching it a second time I saw how badly the truck was hit.. It looked like just a small section of the drivers side got smashed. He must have been going pretty fast.
