I don't do pain either...pain hurts! But I was surprised last time there was a thread here on skin tags- several people said they just sliced them off on their own. Not me, that would hurt like %^&* and I would probably cut something else that I might need One of my relatives developed several skin tags and said her dr just zapped them off one by one and that it was quick and painless, like when they 'freeze' or zap off a wart. I don't know, I haven't had it done but her version sounded easy enough. |

I've removed them by tying them off with a piece of dental floss. Make a slip knot so you can get it around it and pull it tight. Add a second knot to deep it from slipping. It's a little uncomfortable at first but it doesn't really hurt. In a few days it will fall off on its own. I know, sounds gross, but it really does work.

too funny that you posted this Jovia-I have one on my inner arm that has just been grossing me out! I have been twisting it, hoping to cut off circulation, but it does hurt a bit. I think doing the dental floss bit would turn into a family science experiment, so off to go get wart remover tomorrow.

I put wart remover on mine and then i stuck a bandaid on it and within a week it was gone. I still have a bump where the tag was, but defidently less painful then cutting them off.

If they're around your neck, they're probably coming from your shoulder strap of your seat belt rubbing on your neck! I had them on my neck and a friend of mine told me that's what was causing them. So we bought one of those cushion-like covers for your shoulder strap (made of some sort of soft material) and they started going away on their own.

I've taken care of skin tags this way: Get the surface of the skin tag open a little bit-I usually just make a little scratch with my fingernail, just enough so the skin is open-and then put rubbing alcohol on it and rub in around for a minute or so. You'll need to put the alcohol on daily but after 2-3 days the skin tag will darken and drop off. This hurts a whole lot less than cutting them off and I've had the little buggers bleed like crazy when I've cut them off.

I have had mine on my neck frozen off by my doctor, it stung like hell but got rid of them. Of course, they have come back and I use Compound W wart remover on them now.

Skin tags are a problem for many people. They are caused by skin that is rubbed or irritated by friction. For men, are you embarrassed to take your shirt off in public? Ladies, do you have these unsightly little pests getting caught in your jewelry? Perhaps they are around the line where your bra cuts and rubs into your skin. However you get them they are pesky, unsightly, and sometimes painful when they are rubbed or touched. Here are four different methods to rid yourself of these ugly skin tags that you can use at home. 1) Skin Tags can be removed by cutting off the blood supply at the base of the skin tag. Chances are that it is in a hard to reach spot. For this treatment, you will need someone to help you. Take a piece of dental floss or strong sewing thread. The idea is to surround the base of the skin tag with the dental floss or thread. You make a loop with the thread and tie it snug with a knot. The blood supply to the skin tag will be cut off. After a day or two, the skin tag will drop off. 2) Another method to try to rid yourself of skin tags entails using vitamin E from a capsule. Apply the vitamin E oil to the skin tag and the surrounding skin. Then cover the skin tag with a cloth type band aid strip. The vitamin E is good for your skin. The Band-Aid will kill off the blood supply to the skin tag, and it will fall off in a day or two. Reapply more vitamin E oil, and another small Band-Aid the next day. This should take care of the pesky skin tag, and the surrounding skin. Just pierce the vitamin E capsule with a knife point or needle. Be careful not to stick your self. 3) Take a piece of common gray household duct tape and apply it to the skin tag. Keep it on all day, and when it loosens up check to see if the skin tag has fallen off. Try it again the next few days, if you don't get quick results. 4) Skin tags can also be removed by using Compound W. This is a mild acid used for wart removal. Apply the solution to the skin tag and cover it with a Band-Aid. Reapply more the next day with another band aid if necessary. |
