I am new to the area and have a question. Back in Georgia there are soooooo many co-signment sales at area churches, homes, fairgrounds, etc two times a year for clothes. (Mainly childrens but one sale that I participated in sold adult clothes) I usually make about $500+ at the two sales that I take my daughters clothes to. I was wondering if towns in the Northern Virginia (McLean, Fairfax, Falls Church, etc) have these as well? If you know of any can you also give me contact info and %. (The 2 that I did in Georgia were 70/30%) Thank you in advance. Robin

I rarely see those types of sales at Churches here, they do big blow-out flea market sales and white elephant sales where you can rent a space for like $10 to $15 sometimes a bit more. I know the largest church in MCClean , The McClean Bible Church does them sometimes you cant miss the church its on Rte 7 its huuuuge, There is one in the Annandale Area who used to do them Called I think Grace Bible Church on the Corner of Braddock and Backlick, but they went more to you donate the items and they have a Free Sale and people come in and get clothing for free no questions asked.

I have lived here my whole life and I honestly don't remember ever seeing any type of sale like that its always been rents a space or table and sell your goods type thing. It wouldn't hurt to start calling some of the larger churches to see if they do Yard Sales.

Now there used to be some really nice consignment shops in Reston at Lake Anne Shopping Center they had one, McLean used to have a few, we had a nice Chidlren's one here in the MT. Vernon Area of Alexandria but they closed and Moved to another location and then completely shut their doors I sure do miss that place. Just grab the good old Verizon Yellow pages and start looking and calling we tend to do things a bit different here than in the south LOL

We got a place in Great Falls, but so far I am absolutely miserable and have been met with nothing but rudeness.
I just have to kick myself for being to busy/lazy to do the Spring sales at home.

Tried to warn you that people were rude here at least I think it was you . Really surprised that you would be in Great Falls and encounter rudeness that place is too rich for my blood and most people were nice the last time I ventured down that way on the Beltway. You want to see really rude come down my way one day to my Walmart most of the employees save maybe 5 are ruder than rude can be.

We're seriously talking about when DH gets released from the Doctor to go back to work and find a job him taking on two jobs fixing our place up and trying to sell it and go south to FL by my mom we've had some bad crimes here lately one made the news the other night and the other didn't and it was very serious. I know I cant escape violence etc but it has to be better somewhere other than here.

I am going to check out those links.

Southern Maryland isnt too far from me off the Woodrow Wilson Bridge nice area.
