Has anyone tried Bread Bags (like Green Bags)?

I have tried the Green bags and they seem to work. I just saw the Bread Bags in the Walgreens ad. I had not heard of them before. Do they Work? Has anyone tried them?

I sold some to a customer the other day at work and they raved about them saying they were buying another set to give as a gift. Haven't tried them myself though.

I am very shocked and surprised that you find Geen Bags good. When I heard about them I did some research and Consumer Reports as well as some other entities that do reviews found them to not work and in some cases found the veggies put in rotted faster than when left alone.

I have never heard of the bread bags.

I bought $60 worth of the Green bags (got the ones that had the zip locks) and they totally sucked. The fruit and veggies did indeed rot faster, I then bit the bullet and bought the FridgeSmart containers from Tupperware and I am very satisfied with them. My greens (have 2 bearded dragons I have to feed greens to) stay fresh for weeks. Very much worth the money as for the green bags I just threw most of them away as they did not work at all.

I too read the review in my Consumer Reports magazine that they did not work at all. I have never used them but thought I'd write what I read.

I'm going to have to get some of the Fridgesmart containers........I have never heard of the Bread bags, I have a few Rubbermaid bread containers, and I have trouble with moisture getting trapped inside.

I bought a whole bunch of the stupid green bags at Bed, Bath & Beyond because I was wasting soooo much money on produce that goes bad before I can use it. The green bags (I got the authentic Debbie Meyer ones) and they are not worth the money

I tried them again a couple of days ago with bananas and the bananas lasted exactly two days before I had to throw them in the garbage.

Another vote for Tupperware Fridgesmart for veggies... even leaf lettuce lasts for a couple of weeks in one of these.

Not sure what to do about bananas and other fruits except putting them in the fridge???

Bread in the fridge too. You can always microwave for a few seconds to freshen.

I bought the Evert-Fresh Green Bags from Amazon and I really like them. The fruit is still good weeks later and my lettuce stays crisp for a month.

I have never heard of bread bags. I would do a search on amazon andread the reviews before buying them.

I love the green bags!

My celery, carrots and cauliflower stay crisp all week for my lunches.

I buy my bananas green and pop them in the green bags, and they ripen and stay nice for a longer time than just sitting on the counter.

Don't forget that fruit is ripening in your hot hot car on the ride home this summer months.

I saw the gold bags for bread and was thinking about getting some of them. I saw Debbie Meyers with them on HSN. Debbie Meyer also has a tupperware type container also that is supposed to work like a green bag.

There are also cold cut bags and cheese bags as well. Here is the website.

Debbie Meyer Brand Products

She has this cool cake cutter available too. I got the one for layer cakes since I am known for flipping the cake piece upside down just as I go to serve it on someone's plate! The cutter works well. Now I need the one for a sheet cake too!

I love my Green Bags but I bought mine from QVC and the food did last longer, I just bought some more from BB and Beyond and I am going to try them out. I hope they work, I cant afford to be wasting money on food.

We keep our bread in the freezer then toast it or just let it sit for a minute or two.

I saw the Debbie Meyer bread bags and the cold cut and cheese bags at CVS a few weeks back. But I went in this week and they were all gone. I bought the green boxes that PHECKLER mentioned. I hated them. The containers had a chemical smell to them, and fresh bread didn't last any longer in there than they do in regular tupperware containers. I ended up returning the boxes.

I do like the green bags for lettuce it last for weeks in there as long as you wipe the moisture out.
