My husband shows me special love and consideration every single day. Today he detailed my car. He is always saving the last of something for me and making sure we go places I will enjoy. I love him he's the best husband ever!

Actually this weekend a couple of nice things were done for me. 1. Yesterday my van broke down (it was 106 outside) my oldest daughter and her husband came and rescued me and lent me one of their vehicles overnight. 2. A friend of mine who has a big garden left two watermelons and two canteloupes on my front porch, they were waiting on my front proch for me when I got home. 3. My middle DD and her husband got here late last night from Washington (visiting) they brought me a large computer monitor (they had an extra one) because my cat chewed through the wire on my other one and I am using my older smaller monitor.

About a month ago I was walking out of the grocery store pushing my invalid mother in her wheelchair with my right hand and pulling the cart behind me with my left hand. I stop to adjust one of my hands and a woman coming into the store stopped and asked if I needed any help to my car. I politely declined as this is routine for me and I don't need help but I thought it was the nicest gesture. She really reminded me that there are kind generous people out there who are willing to lend a hand to complete strangers.

When I was in the ER last week, the nurse I had was beyond busy, it seemed as if someone was always calling him to do one thing or another. He also had a paitent, an elderly woman who was in the bed next to me who seemed to call him every 5 min to complain that she didn't want to be there, or she wanted a drink or the light was too bright then it was too dark for her etc etc. I wanted a drink in the worst way but saw how busy he was and didn't want to bother him so I stuck it out and waited until he was able to get to me, in the meantime hoping my boyfriend would hury and get there so I could have sent him to the vending machine. After being there for 4 hours and going for different tests and scans the nurse finally got a chance to come see me and asked if I wanted or needed anything I asked him if I could get drink since the stuff they made me drink for my scan was yucky he left and came back with a sprite and some jello for me. Then once we figured out I had a cyst rupture (I went through it 2 years ago, this time the pain was just more intense) I told him I knew I needed to call my OB/GYN because I had this before. The dr though at the ER wanted to put me through more test and I just wanted to go home and sleep. The nurse argued with the Dr on my behalf that since the scan showed I had the cysts and I have been through that before and wanted to follow up woth my regular dr. At first the er dr didnt want to discharge me, but the nurse pointed out to him that I had been there for 6 hours, I drove myself there in excrusiating pain but refused high pain meds knowing I had to drive myself home (I just had them give me a tylonol which didnt help but I couldn't take anything stronger knowing once they discharged me I'd have to drive home) so finally after him arguing on my behalf for 20 min I was able to go home. AFter he got me my discharge papers he even packed me a small bag with some jello and juices because he said for me to stay on a liquid diet for a few days and wanted me to have the stuff readily available for me.

My SIL drove an hour with her 3 kids to take our nephew off my hands. His mom was in the hospital with her newborn who they wouldn't release yet (but did yesterday). We'd had my nephew here for almost 4 days and nights. He's a handful to say the least.

The last couple days I have been treated really nice at the bank. They were so helpful printing a ton of stuff out for me so I didn't have to pay for it through corporate. It pays to keep your business local! It's nice to acknowledge these things, sometimes we don't even notice until we actually think about it. When I first read the thread I didn'think I had anything that was nice done for me, but once I thought about it I really appreciated what was done. And I got a really nice envelope in the mail a couple weeks ago from someone here, you know who you are.

My mom and dad came over to my house last night to visit and see our new travel trailer, and my mom told me that either next week or the week after she is going to come over while I'm at work and clean my whole house top to bottom. Mopping, dusting, vacuuming, etc. She does this for my sister (in Georgia) so she said she'd do that for me too. I hate cleaning big time, so it will be wonderful to come home to a spotless house!I love my momma!!!

I was thrown from the horse I was riding on Sunday. Needless to say, I'm in a lot of pain and still had to go into work due to an audit we were having on Monday. My co-workers helped me set-up for the lunch meeting. They didn't let me lift a finger. They are wonderful people.

Well I was at the beach today and the waves were great and a lady overheard me telling my daughter that it was a shame she forget her boogie board. She said she did the same but ran across the road to buy one for her liitle girl. Well 5 minutes later as we stood by the water a little girl came up and offered my daughter her boogie board to use. First of all I thanked the Mother but what a wonderful lesson she also taught her daughter. The too often forgot GIFT OF KINDNESS!!.

| We called a contractor to come and look at and
fix our roof where squirrels were getting into our attic. We had another person come, but evidently he did not get it fixed, he was from out of town, and helped us trap some of the squirrels because he did not want to kill them or leave poison out for them. Anyway, a nice guy came by, I had seen his sign at another job he was doing in my neighborhood, and said he thought he could see the place and he could fix it very easily. A couple of days later he came by, crawled up there and put up another board. He just told my husband, no charge. Just remember him the next time we need some work done. Wow! He could have charged us a service call, etc. I was so pleased! |

Wow PHECKLER, that's the kind of hospitality you just don't see anymore. Are you sure he wasn't an angle? (LOL) It's kind of hard to say what the "nicest" thing anyone has done for me lately because our family does nice things for each other all the time. DH rubs my back or feet when they hurt. DS treats us to lunch or dinner occasionally. My mother brought us tomatoes and cucumbers from her garden yesterday. However.... I was at the Dollar General the other day and bought some books & toys for my OCC shoe boxes at 70% off. There were a few items in the clearance section that I suspected were not included in the 70% off clearance sale. I took them to the register and asked the cashier to scan them and check the prices for me. She said they weren't marked down, but she'd give them to me at 70% off anyway because she just wanted to get rid of "all of this junk". (I didn't ask, but I got the impression she was a manager.) All I asked her to do was check the prices and she voluntarily marked them down for me, I thought that was awfully nice of her. ![]() .

My boys attended a Upward Basketball camp at the beginning of the summer. One of them must have told the coach that their daddy was deployed overseas. On Monday 3 of the sponsors from the camp came by and asked me if they could help me out in anyway since my husband was deployed. I told them thanks for coming and asking but I was doing good at the moment. They then asked me if they could pray for me while my husband was gone. Of course I said yes...please pray for my sanity...it's not easy raising 3 boys with daddy deployed. Then the next day they called back and asked if they could send my husband a homemade pound cake. I told them he would love it and gave them his address. He is going to be so surprised. They then said please keep their number handy and if anything came up that I could use their help then do not hesitate to call them. It brought tears to my eyes that people are still so considerate these days. Times like these I love living in a smaller town.
