Costco's Pfaltzfraff dishes

For my wedding I received 3 sets of Pfaltzgraff "Verona" dishes and I have already had 2 plates that chipped.
Have any of you had this problem with them?
I have 2 sets of Pfaltzgraff "ocean breeze" which I replaced because I never had any problems with it, but we are missing some pieces from our moves.

Now I have to see if I can get the receipt from my aunt and then see if Costco will take them back. I only have 2 of the three boxes, one chipped plate and one missing plate (the one that chipped the day I took them out of the box)

If I am able to return them I will only get store credit because she put it on her credit card. Are there any other dishes that might be comparable at Costco?

Costco is very good about the returns. I would give them all the dishes you plan to return along with the boxes and receipt. My experience has been that I receive cash back. HTH

I am very disappointed in my pfaltzgraff dishes I purchased, I have 2 small plates chipped , 1 bowl ,
and 2 coffee cups that are really bad, I have had another pattern years ago and never had this
much trouble with them chipping, I was thinking of contacting the company themselves about it.

I wonder if it is because they are no longer made in York, PA. I believe it is now made in Chinca. I have the Yorktowne pattern. Most of the pieces I have had since 1988. I only have one plate with a chip and I bought it recently.

I also have the Yorktowne pattern. I have had it for years and only one chipped bowl.
I have seen chipped peices in the department stores on displays.

They sold the company and it looks like it may be bad for the consumer!

If I were you I would return it, I have the sedona pattern I got it last year, I only have the set for 4 people and I need a bigger set
but I am going with some other brand/color dishes to match what colors are in this pattern, I had the grapevine pattern about 10 years ago and that set went thru the ringer cause I had young kids and didnt have time to take care of my dishes , now my kids are older and I dont bang them around and such and
these are the ones who are chipped.

I have the Morning Light (cobalt blue with raised pattern) pattern that I got for my wedding 12 1/2 years ago. They are horribly chipped and we've broken quite a few. I do have small children (5 & 8 now), but I don't feel like we are overly hard on the dishes.

The Morning Light pattern is now discontinued -- otherwise, I would just buy some new, non-shipped pieces to replace the chipped ones. DH wants to replace it with a new set, but I hate to do that because I have tons of serving pieces, etc. and I am one of those people who wants everything to match.

Sarah......

Sarah, you may want to purchase some more from e-bay. i saw a lot of inexpensive listings there.
