Arrow I have a question about eyebrows...

Hi! Do any of you get your eyebrows waxed? I am curious of the going rate in your area or at your salon. In the past I have paid anywhere from $7 to $10. Tonight I got desperate and didn't ask in advance and it cost me $14. Does that sound right to you?

$14???????????? wow, that's very high

I live in New York City (where everything is EXPENSIVE.....lol) and it only costs me $5 or $6, depending on where I go

The threading is great too.......that costs approx. $10

I live in NC and pay $10 (have for the last 5 or so years). I have mine waxed every 2 weeks. I tip $1 each time, too.

I've only had mine waxed once (I usually pluck). I'd bought a gift package for $40 that included an eyebrow waxing amongst many other things (hair cut, highlight, manicure, 1/2 hour massage, paraffin hand dip, etc.). It was about a year ago, but their regular cost for an eyebrow waxing was $6. She did a fantastic job, but the salon is not close to me so I never went back after I used up the gift package.

Where I get my hair done, the girl charges $8 for eyebrows and $4 for lip.
$25 for wash cut and style.

I was just thinking about seeing if She can do my brows today when I go get cut and highlights.

I usually pay $8 but when I went to a salon in Manhattan I went to see a woman who specializes in eye brows and she cost $60 (yes that is not a type-O,) but she shaped them because she said the woman I usually go to was shaping them wrong for my face. Although I loved what she did, (it was pain free) the usual charge is $30

My stylist charges $15 for an eyebrow waxing. That is standard for this area. But I go online to my local news channel website where they sell gift certificates for 50% off and I pay $12.50 for a $25 g.c. My salon is a NO Tipping salon.

This thread got me to thinking I bet you could do it at the Beauty School. All the stylists around here come from the same beauty school. I called today to inquire about a manicure and it's only $7. So I am going tomorrow. It's a treat I usually do my own nails.

From what I've been told, beauty schools are THE best place to get manicures and pedicures...they have a very high requirements for cleanliness of their instruments and work areas.

I got a manicure ($7) with French Tips ($2.50) at the Beauty School on Friday and yes they are very very clean and she did an excellent job. The one girl was not too good she went and got another girl who was really good (I'll ask for her next time LOL). I even gave a really nice tip. My nails still look really good today and if I touch them up they'll be fine for at least a week. Next time I'll skip the French tips and go for a $7 mani it's easier to keep up.

I pay $8 to have them done-but I don't get them done very often. I am just very diligent after I have them done to stand-by with the tweezers and pluck any little guy who dares to sprout up out of the zone.
