Just thought we could do a random thread here. Please post your most random thoughts. On my mind today, we are taking our oldest son to college in 9 days. Financing still has not been secured (very long story there). We'll get it one way or another....Have to go buy him some clothes-already bought sheets, but he still needs a few more things-thank goodness the machines there are free! . Need to clean the house REALLY well since the in-laws are coming to watch the two little guys and the dog. Would love to go pick blueberries today, but it's really hot. DH is watching the most boring C-Span stuff on tv. All the kids are sleeping, and the house is so quiet. Got a new pool table yesterday-thanks Dad! See, I told you it was random!
next.....

well you said random.....
I really do not feel like leaving the house today. I would like to stay in my PJs and just do nothing. I have a baby shower that I should be going to but I dont want to. It is for a girl from church and while she is a really nice girl, and I am happy for her, I just dont feel like going.
Terrible aren't I?
Oh and my 18th Anniversary is tomorrow. I will be married exactly half of my life and then... from that moment on, I will be married more then I was ever single.
How is that for random???

I'm sitting in an easy chair with my dog snuggled in beside me... contemplating sending the kids off to school tomorrow.
Where did the summer go? Will they like their teachers? Will they have a good year? Will I be able to keep busy enough (why am I even worried about this one!)? Will homework drive me nearly over the brink again this year? How will we be able to do everything that needs to be done in the evenings?
They are growing up... and |

I like this thread! My thoughts are..very random now.. Does my son's friend have underwear for back to school ? ( I brought him over a bag of my son's no longer needed clothing..his mom walked out on the family years ago..tight on money.)..would I be overstepping to ask ? I have a lot of underwear ( brand new in the packages ) I buy my sons and dh on clearance thru the years..
Is my son up yet ? Who is making all that noise outside so early on a Sunday morning ? Why are my pets sooo needy first thing in the morning ?
Is it dumb to have sausage gravy over toast for lunch today ? What should I take out for dinner ?
I have to search for my coupons today..I misplaced them.

Gosh, my thoughts are running wild, too. The grandkids are coming this morning and will be staying for four days/three nites...will they take their naps? Will Andrew sleep through the nite? Will I get anything done if I take them up to school with me? Where did my summer go? What will my class be like this year? Is the new schedule at school really as bad as people says it is? Our vice principal is back...and she used to be my best friend. She is still not speaking to me--will she be out to get me this year? Will David continue in AA? What new job is he going to choose? Will the doctor tell me tomorrow that the MRI shows a lot of damage to my shoulder? Will David get Andrew to his doctor's appt. on time? Am I a worry-wart? LOL!

Should we open the thrift sale today if it might rain? If my son doesn't get his Eagle Scout project completed before school starts will he ever get it done? If it doesn't rain today I need to water the flowers tonight. If I get up early tomorrow I can get my walk in before work when it's cool out. Why doesn't my son go downstairs to get another package of toilet paper when he uses the last roll? I need to shave my legs. Why would someone mow their lawn so early on Sunday morning. I'm hungry- let's go see what's in the fridge.

Random thoughts: my 12 year old had oral surgery yesterday to expose a tooth in the roof of her mouth that may or may not (now that is is exposed) grow down on it's own. We are paying an orthodontist $4000 to fix this problem and bring this tooth down. The ironic thing is her teeth right now are PERFECTLY STRAGHT, so we are paying him to mess up her teeth then straighten them again. According to our regular dentist the tooth may or may not cause problems later on, the tooth could not be seen or felt and did in no way bother or cause DD any pain. I just hope that we made the right decision, which we made in order to avoid any possible complications for her in the future.
My middle DD and her husband are here visiting from Washington, today is their last day here, they leave tomorrow. We will be having a cookout/swimming party this afternoon, so that will be fun. At the same time I am sad because a good friends wedding shower is scheduled for the same time and I won't be able to go because I am hosting a cookout.

We have a truck for sale and were supposed to meet someone to look & test drive it...just got an e-mail that he found a different truck. ugh
I need to get back to school clothes shopping done (I know, I waited a long time)...but we were waiting to sell the truck this weekend.
My coffee pot is done, but I am comfy here in the chair on the computer.

I love this thread. It feels like we're all just sitting around and chatting...kind of like The View.
I did a little gardening this morning and am about to leave for Pittsburgh to see Annie Get Your Gun. My birthday was yesterday, and both DSs called....one while on vacation in Maine and the other from Thailand. That's the first time I've been able to talk to him for 2 months. Makes me cry. Happy tears. But I won't see him until next July. Sad tears. Gee, I cry a lot, don't I? Ahhh....if you only knew. LOL My fish tank is dirty and I hate cleaning it. My sister used to have 5 tanks and she cleaned them every Saturday. I wish she was still around to motivate me. I have to go change my clothes and pack lunch...catch ya later....

Thinking about the little angel baby Sully that died yesterday from ALL. I need to clean my house but it is a mess from the renovations going on. Are my doors actually in at Lowes or is the guy there a complete idiot. I need to get school supplies, horse food, dog food, and groceries. I should take a day off of work this week to get the kids enrolled and do my back to school shopping. DH wants to go to Lowe's AGAIN and I am sick of hemorraging money for this enormous remodel. On the other hand, I cannot wait for a new kitchen with Zodiac counters and great lighting. Will my sub-contractors show up again unannounced and make huge messes in the house.
Will I ever stop worrying about things that haven't happened yet?
By the way, I love this random thoughts post. Great to write all of this stuff down and get it out of my head.

A good friend of mine's husband passed away last week (pancreatic cancer) and the visitation is today. I have to go, but he was also the mayor of our town. That means the place is going to be packed and we'll probably have to wait in a long, long line out in the heat and humidity. I really don't want to go! I know I have to, to be supportive, but I never know what to say in those situations. I need to be home making pickles and drying parsley, basil, and sage. There's probably plenty of green beans that need to be frozen.

Rep Power: 75 | | Wow I never knew there was any kind of thought but random.
If that hot flash hadn't woken me up I probably would have gotten almost 7 hrs of sleep. Damn the alien called menopause that has invaded my body.
Don't forget to go out and move the hose in about 10 min.
Even the red dog didn't want to get up this early.
What shall we nosh on for breakfast?
Is the coffee ready yet?
Is it hot in here?
Crap, forgot to iron a shirt for work today. Oh well I'm up plenty early so I have time to do it now.
How can that little girl in Florida be gone for a month and her family not be prone with grief?
Wow the spiders have really been busy in the corner of that picture frame.
And the list goes on..........

I Will share I do not know if many know but I do have a almost 20 year son Thomas who was born with 3 serious heart defects, 2 were surgically fixed and the other the most serious which is acortic stenois he still lives with and if that is not bad enough for my son, for the past oh say about 5 months he has experienced some severe stomach problems, however things have gotten way out of hand. We laready know he is lactose intolorent , he also has ibs cannot eat anything spicy, fired greasy, fash food. On top of that he is 6/2 and just weighs 124 lbs they put him on a special multi vitamin for his over all health. He basically has been a fussy eater all his life however now he suffers just about every day with stomach pains and has severe diarreha sp. which is not good . They did the tube down his stomach test to see if he had acid reflux, he does not, they tested him for a bacterial infection that could be living in his stomach he does not have they also took a small biospy came back ok. Last week we took him to have a sonogram done to see if her gallbadder is ok, test came back however now tomorrow 7 30 am I am taking him to the hospital to see if the gallbadder is working correctly he is having a hida scan done with contrast, he wil have a iv and they will inject dye into him. As for everyday he also urinates alot so he is basically living on plain bagles, cracklin oat bran and frosted mini wheats, alot of friut banana's and apples mostly, only grilled chicken or turkey has to be cooked in chicken broth no butter or oil. He is very upset by all this and so are we , we cannot and nor can he like this I forgot he also eats alot of jello, so if anyone cares to say a prayer for my baby and will post updates his name is Thomas Peter, thanks for the great post peace to all catherine

I REALLY have to clear my desk!

I just finishes my yoga workout -- I love yoga. DD is growing a GINORMOUS cabbage in my garden -- she's going to enter it in a contest. We visited an awesome place today--Rodale Experimental Gardens in PA. I love that place -- we used to go every August but haven't been in a few years. It's quiet, peaceful and all my kids love it. I miss my dad -- he died 8-8-07, I worry about my mom but she is amazing and very strong and independent. I think I'll go lift some weights then have a cookie -- DD is making yummy chocolate/chocolate chip cookies. Maybe I'll have two. My house really needs to be cleaned!

I am sitting here thinking about dinner. I have NOTHING thawed out and don't feel like going out. It is so HOT here in the desert I wish I was up North at Mom's cabin(115 here and only 70 on her patio today). Wondering how I will get kids to bed early tonight. They don't start school for another week but I am starting the routine tonight. I sure am hungry, can't think about much else......

DH, after taking many opportunities, himself, to go away here and there for things that have been coming up this summer, just said "Honey, go out, take some $20's with you - go have fun, go shopping, and don't come back til dinner time. What do you want me to have ready for you?"
I requested something with pasta and seafood with 'pink' sauce (alfredo and tomato).
It was the nicest day! Shopping, driving slowly with the top down on the convertible, and more shopping!
Dinner was so yummy, I'm feeling drowsy now from the sunshine and the wine w/dinner, so I think it'll be an early bedtime. Gotta love when DH feels like he owes me!!!

I'm wondering how long it is going to take my bruised tail bone to heal so that I can go horseback riding again. It's been a week since my fall and I am over the pain. I want to get back out on the horse.
Oh, let's see. Also wondering where I went wrong in raising my oldest son. He's a constant worry. These are my random thoughts for today.
