What are you allergic to?

I was in the store and got to talking with a lady that was in front of me in the checkout lane. We were talking about the high price of laundry detergent and she mentioned she was allergic to Tide.

I don't have any allergies (that I am aware of). Just curious if you do, and what are they?

I use to be allergic to the outdoors until I took shots for a couple months then the allergies went away.
Later on in life I suffered from severe chronic hives of different varieties for many several years and my life was total HELL.I did not know what I was allergic to through those years but I managed to fight them all off by not taking any allergy medicines and building a natural resistance up.I have been allergy free for about 5 years now.

I am allergic to all of the trees and grasses in the state of Mississippi. Most of the trees and grasses in the state of Indiana and South Carolina. I am SEVERELY allergic to cats. I get near them and I am sick for a week. Cats, pollen, and dust are the top three with a few others added. Oh, I am also allergic to any pain medications and to phenergren (sp?) they all make me violently ill.

I am allergic to everything outdoors, anything with fur, mold, and dust.
I am also allergic to latex.
My food allergies are to watermelon, peanuts, tree nuts, peas, shrimp.
I am also allergic to Bounce dryer sheets, and some laundry detergent that my brother's family used (but they couldn't remember which they used, they switch all the time).

Tangerines.

I break out in massive hives.

Last time it happened, I had washed a bowl, wearing rubber gloves, that DH had some tangerines in. I cleaned that bowl so good and thorough. Twice.

I mixed up a batch of chocolate peanut butter cookies in it afterward.

I ate a couple of the cookies, and realized something was wrong.

Looked in the mirror, and it looked like somebody had slapped me hard across the face.

I guess I am super sensitive to the oil or something in them or the peel.

I am horrible allergic to Splenda. So, a lot of low calories stuff (most stuff like low cal ice cream use splenda) is off limits to me. That's okay. I would rather avoid artificial sugar anyway.

I am also allergic to anything with fur, mold and pollen. My right hand (and only my right hand) is allergic to vinyl. The soft fake leather like vinyl. I break out in a horrible rash and have what looks to be infection lines run up my arm. It hurts worse than most anything I can think of. I can touch the super shiny vinyl seats at a restaurant. They have some sort of poly over the vinyl so it's okay. Meantime, I have to be really careful when dealing with purses, belts and shoes, especially for the kids. Most kid items aren't leather but a mix or just vinyl. This is the worst of my allergies and the hardest one to avoid. I can't take a pill for it or put a cream on it. I can wear gloves....yeah, that sounds lovely doesn't it?

I am highly allergic to Betadine , Iodine (so is my mother) any dine basically. We found out during the birth of my first child and it was not pretty. I also have seasonally allergies. Nothing to major there.
My youngest is allergic to soaps and detergents with dyes or perfumes so we use dye free, perfume free everything here.

I also have many allergies. Latex is a difficult one. I am a healthcare worker and I'm sure this is how it started and fortunately most everything in hospitals now a days is latex free. I had a really bad IV experience because of my latex allergy. It also doesn't help any in the birth control department. Most of those devices are made with latex. Also allergic to penicillan and sulfa. Dust, cockroach dander, cats and one type of grass and one type of tree. I tried allergy shots for a while and they weren't working for me. I continued to have reactions to my shots and never got past the first dosage level.

Anyone allergic to milk? DH has realized that he's allergic to milk just recently. He starts itching and develops a rash when he drinks it. And he loves milk! This has just started happening within the last few months. He's already on allergy shots and meds for other allergies. This is a new one, though.

metals on my wrists, they break out in raised dots that itch sooo bad, i can only wear gold for earrings (everything else makes them itch and bleed), the normal outdoor allergies.

I am not sure if i am allergic, but walnuts, pineapple, kiwi, canteloupe, and other high citrus fruits really hurt my mouth almost instantly.

I am allergice to Penicillin and Sulfa Drugs, I just found out about those two recently. I used to take penicillin as a child and was never allergic, now I am

As far as food.. I am allergic to.... Kool Aid! No one ever believes me when I tell them that.. or worse they wanna see! I don't break out in hives.. but I will be sick (throwing up) the whole night long, even if I just ingest a small amount. Too bad too, I liked the cherry flavor as a kid!

I am slightly allergic to milk, when i drink it it makes my nose stuff up. There are some pollens that bug me, dunno which though.

My son was/is allergic to milk. When he was younger he used to have a severe reaction to it. Now it isn't as bad. We had to go to an allergist and he was put on shots for it. For along time until he was able to be retested we had to go non dairy with alot of items.

Just wondering if it's the dyes in the Kool-Aid?

I'm not allergic to any foods. Occasionally I will develop contact dermatitis from things, but it's not really an allergy.

I do however have an allergy to Dawn dish soap. Thank God! Gives me an excuse to have someone else do the dishes!

Penicillin
Sulpha

Fur/Feathers
Mold/Mildew
Grass, Trees

It's not as bad now as when I was younger, but I've always wanted a dog and can never have one.

Nothing really, just the normal seasonal allergies.

Food wise artificial sweetners and red wine. Doesn't bother me since I can't stand the artificial sweetners anyway!

My mom and I used to wonder that. Had to be a dye or something in there that flavored it. It was bad, even in church for passover they used red kool aid and that small amount made me miserable for hours!

I can drink capri sun... and hi-c with no problem.

I am allergic to the following:

Ivory soap(can't even touch it or I break out in hives)
Latex(can't even touch this either or I swell up,break out in hives and itch)
Any and all perfumes/colognes or such scents(makes me ill and makes me sneeze)
Bee stings (If stung I have difficulty breathing and swell up)

I also get hives at times if in contact with the grass or if I am outside for a long time and pollen is blowing all around. It's not everytime though. I can be totally fine at times and other times I can be all swollen faced, have difficulty breathing and be all congested. Sometimes just taking an allergy pill helps with this.

Oh I think I may be allergic to my husband and Nephew(whom is 20 and lives with us)at times too.. I just avoid them when that allergy acts up!

Sulpha drugs, penicillin, iodine/betadine or anything iodine based including the contrasts used for CT scans and MRI's.

Strawberries, any seafood (because of the iodine) I love seafood too, this was an allergy later in life, I could eat seafood until my 30's. Mesquite or anything cooked with mesquite charcoal (even if I smell mesquite it starts to give me an asthma attack).

Trees, grass, ragweed, pollen, feathers/down, dust, dustmites, some dogs and cats (I am ok with my own unless they get out and have been rolling in the grass or something then they make me sneeze, if the cats lick me I have to wash immediately or I break out in that area). Kind of depends on the animal.

I used to be allergic to yellow food dye, that was a real pain, started with that in my late 20's, but it went away about 10 years later. According to the tests by the allergists, but I still have a phobia about eating food I know had artificial yellow dye as my throat would close up when I ate anything with it, I had to read every label of anything I ate, I had to ask at every restaurant I ate at. So if I know it has it in it I still won't eat it, but if it's something in a restaurant and I don't really know I'm ok. It's all psychological, I know, but I still can't help it.

DH is allergic to Tide. I always tell him that he better not tick me off or I’m washing his socks and underwear in Tide. DS can’t use some soaps, DD can’t use others. Have to rotate laundry soap (and shower gel ) between a couple brands so someone doesn’t start to break out.

I can’t take Sulfa drugs. I was taking a med and everything was fine. Stopped taking it for a while, when I started taking it again I broke out in hives head to toe, including some very uncomfortable spots.

I can’t wear any kid of earrings or any kind. After about an hour my ears get red, sore and puss comes out, takes days to clear up. I can wear gold or sterling silver rings, can’t wear others or I itch and break out. Can’t wear eye makeup for more then an hour or two, otherwise my eyes will swell shut.

Found out the hard way, pads. I’m just glad that didn’t happen until after I had my kids. Use to use Always, went to tampons for a long time, then tried to use a pad and broke out in a really bad diaper rash kind of thing. They had changed them since the last time I used them so I figured that was why. I tried a different brand, same thing happened. Just hope when I get old and need to wear Depends, the same thing doesn’t happen.

Some types of dissolving stitches.

No foods that I know of, but have seasonal allergies that keep getting worse.

I never had any allergies as a kid, but I have noticed that I have been getting sick every spring w/ what I thought was a cold. Anyway, after several years, I finally realized it was seasonal allergies-duh....
