I have some ? about Celiac

Can you help? Something on Oprah yesterday made me start wondering if I could have it. Do you get sick EVERY time you eat wheat or do you generally just feel yukky most of the time?
TIA!

My friend that has it said that she felt bad most of the time, but really bad a day or so after she'd eaten something with gluten. It wasn't an immediate reaction like food poisoning.

I understand there's a blood test for it now you might look into if you think you have it. Or try elimating gluten from your diet for a week or so and see if that helps how you feel.

My dd has celiac she was dx by a colonscopy and blood test. The gluten free diet is a very strict diet not much variance. However I have heard that soon the grocery stores will be required to label what has or doesnt have gluten on their labels, so that will be very helpful. Gluten free foods are more expensive then buying regular food. If she eats out she basically gets a salad with grilled chicken, or grilled chicken. you have to read labels very carefully b/c sometimes you will think this wont have gluten in it and you will be surprised to find out it does. My dd didnt have the diahrea that some celiac have she had consitpation. but her stomach hurt her all the time. Since going gluten free she has felt much better. If you think you have it you should get check out b/c if you are a celiac and continue to eat gluten you have a higher chance of developing some types of cancers.
