| I probably have way too many to list and am way too opinionated on this. But I'll try to list a few; Almost all the southern rockers, led by the Outlaws, Allman Bros. and Skynyrd. Any group that had Eric Clapton involved. Fleetwood Mac (pre-Stevie Nicks) Quicksilver Messenger Service Stones Eagles Bob Seger w/Seger System and Silver Bullet Bad Company Johnny Winter band Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers ZZ Top *even before Eliminator album Ok I have to leave for work now or this post would go on forever. But I will add w/fear of being flamed (quickly donning Nomex suit) I have never been a huge fan of the Grateful Dead and had phases of liking and being burned out on Led Zeppelin.

*sigh* it's sad that the music most of us grew up on is now considered "OLD". WTF does that make us!!?? Huge 80s hair metal fan--if they sang, wore more makeup than me and used more hairspray than me I loved them (Poison, Warrant, Skid Row, Motley Crue, Winger, Bad Company, LA Guns, Guns and Roses, etc.) I like KISS, The Eagles, Aerosmith, Journey (have you guys checked out the new lead singer they've got for this tour???OMG-sounds just like Steve Perry), Kansas... And I know ABBA isn't really "rock and roll"--but I do love them!

The ones you all are listing aren't, for the most part, "old time". Old time would include Elvis, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ike and Tina Turner, The Everly Brothers, and The Supremes, just to name a few.

Edited to add: I just re-read my post and thought it looked a little rude. That certainly isn't how I meant it. I guess I should've thrown some of & in there. ![]() .

| I'm going to veer just slightly OT here. Many of you mention Styx as being a favorite. The funny thing about Styx for me is that they aren't one of my favorites. But I know the words to all their hits and will not change the station when they come on the radio. With all that said, last year my SO got us tickets to see them in concert at one of the local casinos here. I was not enthused. In fact he had to kind of bully me into going. (sometimes we have to do that to each other) I will say that it was an excellant concert. They are great showmen. So if you get a chance to see them you will not be wasting your money.
