My mom is resting comfortable in a hospital room, they have her on pain meds and the doctors told us, they were able to remove all the tumors. She will still have to go to chemo to prevent any new ones from forming . She has also been told again to please stop smoking because that is the reason the tumors have come back so much in the last 14 months. Thanks for all your kind words, I sincerely appreciate them. Peace to all . Catherine

Maybe it would help if you got your Mom a "welcome home" package of nicotine patches, if her doctors approve. I found they really helped me to quit smoking. Once your Mom gets home, she won't have smoked for at least a few days while in the hospital, right?

Your mom is in my prayers. I quit a 25 year smoking habit in 2 months using Chantix. I hope your mom has the same success using it.

I was wondering if you would mind giving me some of the details of the early on, when it was diagnosed/how they found it, early symptoms, etc. I have had some bladder issues (protein in urine, excessive calcium deposits in bladder, etc.) over the past 5 years and have had many many tests done. The best the urologist can give me at this point is he believes I am in the early stages of bladder cancer, but no cancer cells have officially shown up yet (well, this was a few years ago I was told this--I got to the point that I couldn't pay the thousands every few months and them just keep telling me nothing, loooong story and much more to it, new dr. etc.). I would be interested in hearing whatever you can tell me about the disease as at this point I don't know what to believe/what is being told to me--do they have a clue, etc. I've never smoked and I do not drink either, there is no family history so who knows. Thanks for whatever help you can give me! I'm only 37with 4 young kids and certainly hope it's not bladder cancer! Can the urologist determine 'early stages' without any actual cancer cells? He said he has seen this with the excess calcium in the bladder. I hope your mom makes a speedy recovery! |

I am on vacation, however Mom came home today she is sore, my cousin Janet is staying over for a few days. She has to go to the doctor on monday to find out the results, hopefully they were able to remove all the tumors, because they said, she will need some chemo treatments, which of course is the worst and never easy for anyone. Thanks for the posts for my mom. Peace Catherine
