If I were you, I would call. I know that if my child were missing, I would want all the tips called in that could be. Let the police handle investigating. It may turn out to be nothing....but it sure would make me feel better to call it in.

OK, I just called..saw a number on Nancy Grace...I called 1-800-423-tips...the phone kept ringing and ringing ! No one answered. I made sure I dialed correctly by calling again..still no answer ! Drat ! I may not have the nerve to call later.

Googled and found this: If you are having a hard time getting through to the national TIPS line, you can always use this number dedicated to Finding Caylee Anthony. 1.888.848.8750

ARGH! I just talked to dh on the phone ( he lives in FL, I am in WV until our house sells ). I told dh about my calling and he sounded sorta, I guess ho-hummming..that it is a waste of time..there are ALWAYS buzzards out there ( it is the woods, a state park really )..BUT. If that was the case, why did *I* point out the circling buzzards ? He did not even see them..I pointed them out, and I said , " Look at that..look at those buzzards circling ! That is how you spot a dead body, look for the buzzards ! " Now I called the 1-888 number above, and I have been on hold for a while now !

My neighbors' house has buzzards circling it all the time! I was really worried about it (you would be too if you knew the neighbors) until I spoke with the other neighbor who told me that they are circling because he feeds them. I didn't ask what he feeds them but... got me thinking. I don't know if I'd call either. I guess if it makes you feel better though, it wouldn't hurt. |

I guess I would call, just so you can rest easier. When Jacob Wetterling was kidnapped here in Minnesota so many years ago (over 15 I think) I was working in Minneapolis. Of course there was a description of somebody that the police wanted to question and I thought the janitor at my place of employment fit the description. I didn't call the tip line and have always been a little ashamed that I hadn't. I'm sure that this guy was just one of thousands who fit a vague description but what if...? |

I would just go ahead and call. It certainly can't hurt. At least you will have peace of mind and hopefully they will check the area out. I called America's Most Wanted one time in the late 90's. This woman was wanted for murder. She raised horses. She looked exactly like this woman that DH and I encountered when we were riding horses on the beach on our honeymoon in Barbados. They did call me back about a week later and said that the tip didn't pan out. Oh well...I would have always wondered, what if I didn't call and it was the woman they were looking for? As for Caylee, DH and I were just talking about this tonight. I think he gets sick of me talking about it. I still can't imagine what happened to that poor girl. Most people think that she is dead and that the mother accidentally killed her. But...do you think that there is a remote possibility that she is alive somewhere? Maybe that is why when the mother was out partying, she wasn't upset in the least. Maybe she knows that her daughter is fine. I would be curled up in a ball in my bed on meds if my child was missing...not out at the hot bod contest. I still keep coming back to those stains in Casey's car trunk. Has anything ever come out about what they were? DH doesn't think we can trust the press and what they are reporting. I don't know...something sure seems fishy about this whole thing. Do you think that Casey is just doing this as some sort of stunt? That the child is fine and she knows where she is? The whole thing is the most bizarre thing I've heard of in a long time. I wonder how long they can hold Casey? I mean, if no body turns up...I don't think they can keep her in there for ten years, can they? I do think that the woman is a sociopathic liar though. ~Lisa |

| She's a psycho. Who in their right mind wouldn't be on their knees praying for the return of that beautiful baby?? This is nuts. Surely they have traced her cell phone usage, etc., that we just don't know about? I am hoping that they unveil a whole lot of stuff that we just haven't been privy to. I have a precious angel baby, and I just can't even imagine being able to breathe if he were missing.

I don't think I'd make a call on this. Birds circling is a pretty common sight along highways. I'm pretty sure the authorities wouldn't do it, but I wouldn't want to have resources allocated to following up on this "lead" over anything more solid..... cj/

Update : I have called every single number I could find for tips and of last night...NO ONE was answering the phone ! So frustrating ! Makes me not want to call now. I guess what sorta piqued my interest in calling about the buzzards, this area is VERY remote. Dh and I were the only ones really on the road out there. It is the Wekiva State park in Sanford, FL. Lots of dead possums, rabbits on the road..so why would buzzards be interested in more dead game ? Plus, the day I spied the buzzards, was in the time frame when *IF* she died ( God bless her )..the body would be pretty fresh. Seriously, If someone wanted to dispose of a body, this is a good place no one for miles..only trees ..and I would THINK that Caycee ( the mom ) in her bizarre way of thinking..would want to dump her dd's body in a place that had the name "park" in it..you know ? Yes, I am a CSI junkie.

A bit of buzzard trivia: they don't circle dead animals, they are actually riding a warm air current. I had heard this on the news recently. This is from the Vulture Society: Attract "Would vultures circle a moving object, like a vehicle carrying a dead or dying animal? Contrary to popular belief, vultures do not circle over dead or dying animals. They soar on thermals of warm, rising air. This allows them to best conserve their energy in flight. After rising on the thermal, they glide as far as possible before they need to gain altitude again. You will certainly see vultures in the air over a carcass, but their descent is rapid. They will not just hang out in the air looking at it... They want to eat it. In parts of Asia and Africa, vultures have become very brave and comfortable in the presence of humans. In these areas, they sit around rooftops, markets, and garbage dumps, and have much the same presence among the population as the gulls have among us. In such areas, they will follow carts full of food or garbage."

| I'm not saying it's too far fetched but I live in the Sanford area & I see buzzards EVERY day. Yesterday I saw 8 of them eating on a single squirrel. They wouldn't even move off the road, "I" had to drive around them.

How frustrating to try and call in a potential tip on a missing child and no one to help you. Why even have the numbers if no one is there to help?

I don't think this is far fetched at all! about 8 years ago a little girl in my tiny town of less than 900 was kidnapped by her non custodial father! they printed out many flyers of him and her! while my youngest dd was visiting she took one of the flyers and posted it in the phoenix airport that she had to change planes in! well one of the local residents saw that poster and recognized it as one of her new students! the father was caught and the little girl returned to mom because of 1 flyer!

Because of what happened I would call. The police can make the decision if it's worth pursuing.
