| I am not a nurse. However, because I am a work comp adjuster I have a lot of experience reading and interpreting CT/MRI's reports. I'm not sure I can answer your question, but if you want I'll give it a shot (and if this a back CT I have lots of experience with those!)

The report says" The liver enhances homogeneously with mild defuse fatty infiltration. There is no intraheptic bilatery dialation. Heptic dome subcentimeter low attenuation area is too small to characterize. Follow up evaluation recommended. I was just wondering what this whole thing means, considering they also said I have ovarian cysts. Thanks so much

Ok, dont flame me, but They are looking at your liver, and I dont really think they see anything, just some fat, or if they do it is small but want to followup. Could be lesions?? I say wait to see your DR. "There is no intraheptic bilatery dialation.", meaning the bile ducts have NO stone formation. (not sure) Im out of practice sorry! Why did they order a CT scan? Again, I am NOT a DR, just giving you some info that may come in handy. Irish

Thank you so much. I had the test because of extreme abdominal pain. I am thinking since there is ovarian cysts that one may have ruptured, I went through that before it's just the pain was more servere this last time. It's probably nothing with my liver, but I just wanted to be sure ![]() Thanks again Quote:

You should be able to call the doctor's office and ask a nurse to explain the test results. Normally a liver shows as "fatty" due to cirrhois.-although not always. Sorry I can't help with the result of the results; however, they seem inconclusive. those dang MRI's can certainly find everything. My ex had a MRI of his shoulder and it showed a fatty liver! |

sorry, I didn't respond yesterday. Liver and abdomen are out of my league! Not too many work comp injuries to the liver or stomach (thank God!)...Now, backs, knees, shoulders--I could probably help you out. I would call your dr's office and ask if there was anything abnormal or of concern on the report. They should be able to let you know over the phone.
