Exclamation Help! Felt stuck to table!

I just cleaned off my Mom's old dining room table. It had a old table cloth on it that she had on it for years.. it was a christmas one with poinsettas on it!

Anyway.. the table cloth had a felt (I think) backing and there's one section of the table that the felt is stuck to.
The table is old.. older than me.. and not in that great of shape anymore, but I don't want to make it worse... I was thinking using brillo pad? But that might scratch it.

Any suggesstions?

Try Murphy's Oil Soap w/ a soft bristle scrub brush (maybe even a nail brush). I know that the recommendation is to dilute the soap, but I have used it straight on things and had no problems. I'd try the soap and brush on a small spot to make sure there won't be any terrible reaction or discoloration. If there isn't, I would cover the area w/ the soap, let it soak/sit a bit, then give it a gentle scrub.

I don't think you would have to scrub at all. Just let a furniture cleaner or polish soak it for a bit and the felt should come right off. I wouldn't let any product sit too long in case the finish is soft.

OK. I must be half asleep or something. When I read this, I thought you actually meant you felt stuck to a table!!

I'll go get a nap now. All the ideas sound good. (Heck, better than what I was going to tell you to do!LOL!)
