So...the kiddies started school yesterday & are off today because of Hurricane Fay. It's 11:25 am here & I live in Sanford/Lake Mary area.... I haven't had as much as a wind gust or much rain at all...what about you all??

Did they upgrade it to a hurricane? We're in Broward and we were off yesterday and today. Back to it tomorrow!

Mine are back to school tomorrow too. Thank goodness we didn't have any damage, but the weather channel talked about a tornado touching down in Wellington last night. That was about 3 miles from me.

I'm in Pasco county so we had nothing. I think it sprinkled for about 5 min. It was a little breezy. I think there's more wind today than yesterday.

It never was a hurricane, only a tropical storm. My DH is in Florida this week and says it's no big deal.

At first, we thought it was going to come up our way (Virginia) and we'd get some much-needed rain. But now it looks like it's not even going to hit us at all.

We need rain so badly. Everything is brown, the leaves are falling off the trees, and I can't even remember the last time it rained here at our house.

Watch the news, it is a big deal depending on where in FL one is. 16 - 25 inches of rain have fallen along the Space Coast on the east side. (and it's not done) The problem is, it's only moving about 5 mph and thus dumping tremendous amounts of rain. Tropical storms don't have to make hurricane status to cause damage and trouble.

The AOL news headlines read this morning "Florida Suffers Catastrofic Flooding" and shows pictures of people walking in waist deep flood waters.
