Seriously though, my mom just called wanting me to find more info for her and her friend. A friend of hers was telling her about her doctors visit. She some kind of syndrome that causes muscle & soft tissue pain. My mom can't remember the name of the syndrome though. She said if I could come up with a few names she would remember it if she heard it. She doesn't want to call her back because she has things to do and it takes forever to get off the phone with her friend. (I suggested that.)

Any help would be much appriecated.

I have fibromyalgia. It sounds like that's what she has.

Here's a good link to go to for your mom and her friend to go to. It's the national organization. It has different pages to go to that tells you all you need to know about FM.

Please tell your mom to be understanding of your friend. There will be days when she will not feel like doing anything but then other days she'll feel pretty good.

Alternately, as often as they cross diagnose them (I've been diagnosed with both by the AI Dupont Children's Hospital back when I was a teen).

They could have diagnosed her with CFIDS or CFS - Chronic Fatigue & Immune Dysfunction Syndrome or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - that also has wide-spread pain in the muscles and soft tissues.
