been there done that! camping in a tent sucks when it rains. no matter how much water proofing you put on it , it still leaks! nothing like sleeping in wet sleeping bags! thats why we bought the camper then later upgraded to the 38 ft motor home. let it rain! lol

That's why I hate camping and won't do it ever again. Every time I've been camping, it's rained. I figure, why sleep on wet sticks and twigs when I have a nice comfy bed at home. If I take a vacation, I get a hotel room, or stay with friends and family if they invite me.

I hate camping-it's like torture to me. My parents brought us camping a LOT when we were kids. First in a tent where my dad snored like a freight train, and talked in his sleep, then we "graduated" to a camper where I got to sleep on the table. Ok, the table got converted into a bed, but still, not so comfy. And there was the time that there was a freaky cold front where it got ice-cold in the camper, and I thought I was going to freeze to death before the morning came. And there were five of us in that pop-up. Of course now, my parents have a huge camper for just the two of them, and stay at a beautiful resort on the lake where they have their boat. Now THAT, I might have enjoyed. But I do have to say, they are very generous in taking the boys with them several times during the summer, and my kids LOVE it. So maybe camping is a gene that skips a generation? Anyway Anna, sorry about your night in the Escape, but just wondering, did you get "lucky" in the back seat? Sounds like you made the best of it in the end. And welcome back! Lynne

Not enough room for any "luck" LOL. Now we have graduated to a trailer and I have cleaned it up and look forward to using it. I love camping that is when the weather is nice and things go well.

Glas you made the best of it. We just got a pop up last month also. We went camping Fathers day weekend and it didn't really rain but it was hot and miserble setting up the tent and things and that took over an hour to do because it was just so hot. So while sitting over the campfire the next day we discussed getting a popup. We now have a pop up and we enjoy it so much more ok the one thing I hate about it is backing it into the spot it goes in when we get home, not much room to move it around and I am just terrible at giving directions and how much room there is, how close to the edge the spot and so forth. How soon till your next trip? Enjoy! |
