My dh and I have had plans for years to visit the Tahitian islands, specifically Bora Bora. But wooah! The costs involved in visitng that small, remote paradise is absolutely mind boggling! When we planned our vacation there about 4 years ago, it was $15,000. I can't imagine what it would be now... So, we then thought Hawaii might be a better alternative. Neither one has ever happened. Some day, and hopefully while I can still enjoy youth and vitality! |

I love St Maarten. I wanted to move there within a few hours after getting there. It was wonderful. We looked into buying vacation place there. But we didn't. Then we went to Belize and now dh is looking into buying a fractional there. I still love St Maarten but the people of Belize are so wonderful. So I would be happy either place.

I love St. Johns (espcially the snorkeling) and Oahu both. But my favorites are St Maarten & Antigua. However, when we were in Antigua, it was so beautiful we asked a local when they already live there where do they go on vacation. The answer was St. Lucia - so we're going to check it out - hopefully in March. Lisa

omg truble I simply love sanibel island we go there every year in either march or april its like a second home a pure very quiet place, I especially love that people ride their bikes and the speed limit is slow, its so so quiet and peaceful there. I never knew it existed until 11 years ago and now we love it. Have you ever eaten at the Lighthouse Cafe, they serve breakfest until 3 p.m. Captiva is a bit more crowdered sp.. but its very nice was well. I always say to people if you do not want to go to a caribbean island and want to stay in the states go to sanibel island. Peace. Catherine

I am not a huge beach person but I went to this island off Malaysia that was amazing. I can't remember the name now for the life of me. There was this little fishing village with colorful boats and banana trees everywhere. The people were so nice. It was not over delveloped but had a butterfly house and some other small tourist attractions so you didn't get bored. I keep wondering if its still there or if the tsunami wiped it out. Btw if you want the sort of South Pacific adventure with out the price, try Malaysia and indonesia.

We were on a little island close to Fiji. It was amazing, but a little weird too. I knew it was going to be different when our pilot was barefoot. He flew us out to a remote location where we landed on the water and a man with a little motor boat took us across the ocean to another little island, not that we had life vests or anything. The island was so remote that the only person on the island that had communication with the mainland was the chief! Here we were in the middle of no where and much to our chagrin the chief had a new keyboard that he apparently loved and felt he should share his new love of music with everyone on the island. We spent 3 days there and I was ready to stuff that keyboard down the chief's throat by the time we left Other than that it was beautiful and a once in a lifetime experience.

The only island I have been to I guess (well ok, except for NYC-lol) was St. Thomas. It was probably about ten years ago. DH was there working on a merchant ship, and for whatever reason, I was able to score an amazing timeshare. The best part was that we were able to take a little inflatable boat w/ a small engine (can't remember what they called it) to a VERY private beach. Not going to tell you what we did there, but let's just say we went "native."
