Ok. Let me start this by saying had I not been here and witnessed this chain of events myself I might not have believed that someone could have such crappy luck. Trust me, they can. Lets go back to last Thursday. Wake up, and phone has been disconnected due to non payment. My fault, I say. I shouldn't have let myself get so behind. But we can live without a land line, we have cells. Alright, go to the store, only buy what we have to have, use coupons, price match, I'm proud of my smart shopping. Come home, and guess what???? No power!!! This is when I lose it. WAIT! Did I forget to mention that I ran out of gas at my precious son's daycare?? That I coasted in the parking lot??? I didn't get paid till Friday, but I had mailed a $300 check to the power company. I'm totally flipping out at this point, I call the power co. , and only way it can get turned back on is for me to pay the bill, a $15 collection fee, and $40 reconnect fee , TODAY. So I then have to pay by bank card, go to said bank, put a $36 stop payment on the check in the mail, and go back home to hopefully a house with lights on. Ok, so now, I'm WAY in debt. Fast forward to Tuesday night at work DD calls to tell me the washer has bit the dust. I don't know about you, but we do aalloott of laundry. So I'm like, OK, I can't do anything about it tonight, I'm at work, I'll worry about that in the morning. Wake up this morning hot and sweaty, go to turn down the air, and, guess what?? Stupid dog that had ran away because electric fence quit working came home last night, DD put him on his run, which gave him enough leeway to dig under the fence, go by the airconditioner, wrap his cord around some pipe, , leak out all the freon, chew on some cord coming out of the AC , and now we are frying!!! NO AIR!!! AND WE LIVE IN ALABAMA!! IT IS SWELTERING!!! And I have $40 till next week!! Seriously, I am about to lose it. I refuse to ask what next. Because I thought the whole power and phone deal was bad enough. Suffice it to say, I am embarrassed, upset, paranoid,, you name it. I just don't know. I mean, I got behind on my bills, but I thought it would be ok. Here I am, a college graduate, been on my own since I was 16. This isn't supposed to be happening. So all of you that are not worried financially, thank God for it. Because it is a nightmare when things happen like this. Needless to say, I have signed up to work alot of overtime, as I did last week, to dig out of this hole!! Also, men that don't take care of their precious babies SUCKKK!!!!!!!!!

I agree with your last line, I think though, that offering them to suck is just to good for them.

I am learning what Dave Ramsey means when he lectures that everyone should have some sort of emergency fund. There's always going to be something that comes up.

Thank you guys for listening to my rant!! Now I'm somewhat embarrassed that I threw it all out there!! But anyways, we got the air fixed at about 8:30 tonite, and the blessed AC is cooling as we speak!! You never realize the wonder of it until you don't have it!! Yall are a sweet bunch. So after my little meltdown I am much better!! I know things will be ok, this was just one of those rough patches that makes you realize how blessed you are, after you live thru it!! So thanks for listening to my rant!! We're better now!! D

We are all on this forum for the same reason: to share with each other.
Whether it is to discuss the weather, news and simple BS ~~~or all the way to some of the most trying times-and happy times that we may be having in our lives.

I don't think that I have ever viewed this part of MC as anything BUT a place to let your hair down, vent, and find a place that we can each bring to the table those things that are happening in our lives.
