My space. Do you have one?

I always thought that myspace was for teenagers or college age kids. But I am finding more and more that I have friends and relatives that have a my space page. I am talking people in thier 60's.

I did a search just to see and alot of people I went to high school with also have a myspace.

I am 45 and I thought I was just too old for a myspace page.
Does anyone have them?

Myspace and facebook here -- I use one for networking (work) and the other to help keep up with my kids! I'm in my 40s as well

I have a myspace....I use it to share info with family and friends who don't live in my area. It allows me to keep my profile private, so I approve the myspace users that can view my pictures, etc.

I would recommend a facebook rather than myspace. I do not have one, I am in my 50's, but many of my friends and younger friends have them.

Facebook is really about connecting with people. The page is neater, cleaner and safer. Myspace is notorious for sexual stalkers. Facebook is much easier to find your friends by search their networks....it is set up under schools, businesses, locations, so you can search alumni of your high school, college, etc.

Myspace is mostly about setting up a cool looking webpage about yourself and yes you can find some friends but on facebook, it is all about reconnecting...different feel and flow.

You could set up a Myspace page to connect with just those people you mentioned, and keep your page private (click that under security I think) and then set up a facebook to find the rest of your friends.

No, I don't have either a MySpace or Facebook...my two teens forbid me to get one! I guess they think I'm invading "their" territory or something. I do have access to both of their pages though...DD will frequently show me her page. DS is a different story...but I know that Grandmom (my Mom) goes on there and she said that all is well...nothing to worry about. I'm surprised at how many of my adult friends look at their kids friends pages. One of my friends seems to know everything that's going on with the kids through their Facebook. I guess it's a good way to keep on top of things. I know alot of my adult friends have Facebook accounts. The kids tell me that MySpace isn't used as much anymore....it's Facebook now. Tomorrow it will be something else probably. I just think about how different our world would have been back in the day if we had internet access, cell phones, etc. Wow...it's mind blowing. ~Lisa

No I don't, nor do I have an interest in setting up one.

However, I did recently talk to an old high school friend. She was naming off all the people she has been in contact with. When I asked her how she found them, she said --- through MySpace!
It's obviously a great way to find and stay in contact and with people.

Yes most people I know have one. We use it to express our individuality, to communicate with each other, to keep up with our favorite singers, actors, comedians, etc, we use it to make new friends, to network, to blog our opinions, to have a playlist, a photo album, to sound off.

I prefer myspace to facebook simply because I started there. I do have a facebook but I hardly ever go there.

Myspace is a great way to connect with all kinds of people and I know lots of people who use it for business: real estate, Tupperware, Arbonne, homemade crafts, exposing people to their music, writing, etc.

Like anything on or offline you have to use common sense and use it with some discretion. It is fun and harmless if you use your brain and common sense.

I have both but never go to Facebook. I use MySpace to keep in touch with friends and bands (mostly the local bands I used to see when I lived in TN). And I friend my WoW friends if they have MySpace too. I was shocked the other night to see a friend request from an ex, I guess that's the worst part about these sites. We didn't break up under bad terms so it's ok.

Shadow Council. Played 3 years on Alliance side (husband's choice, not mine) and went Horde a couple months ago and it's brought life back to the game

I have a myspace page. I think I have a facebook too, I may have canceled it though. I don't like facebook at all. Give me myspace and I can find and do anything very easily. I guess it just depends on where you originally started. I started my myspace page to keep up with my kids, but I soon found it was a great place just to b*tch my little heart out. So I kicked them off my friends list, lol, and now I b*tch away. My DH even has a myspace page, his is for the most part to keep in a little more contact with his daughter.

Btrflydreams is the ending of my url if anyone wants to add me. I have a lot of you guys already on there.

wow I guess alot more people then I thought had myspace and facebook. I know my dd use to have a myspace but when she got into college she felt that facebook was a little more mature and decided to go with that.

I guess myspace/facebook isn't just for the younger crowd.

I wasn't all that interested in myspace until earlier this year, now I have one. I'm 31 and have found a lot of my old friends on there. It's kinda fun once I gave it a try.

I think I would like to have one, but both of my DD's would have a fit. I don't know why but they would be embarrassed, even though I see both of their pages. Go figure.

I have both myspace and facebook....but barely use them anymore due to the fact that the town/area I grew up in created a websited dedicated to people who grew up in the Bolingbrook and Romeoville area. Ever since that website was launched most of my childhood friends communicate there...

The embarrassment doesn't last long. LOL My 29 yo daughter was beside herself when I expressed interest in MySpace. But she ended up helping me set it up. And all my sisters soon followed. There are lots of "mature" people on MySpace. I say Go For It.

I am 47 and I have both. My kids have both also and we all prefer Myspace. I have found old friends, extended family members, etc. It is a great way to keep in contact. As far as parents of teens on Myspace and Facebook or any other networking site. Keep an eye on what your kids are doing and not just from their profile page. I know my kids' passwords and they know I can check it at any given time. If they change the password on me they loose computer time. I've told them I am not spingon them but I will spot check to make sure they are not being inappropriate. At one time I found out my 14 yr old son was hitting on any scantily dressed female he could find. A few months off the computer taught him that we don't use the internet for stuff like that.
