Chili's changed their menu!

I don't like anything on the new Chili's menu. I used to order lettuce wraps every time we went there but they took it off the menu. Does anyone feel sorry for Cuthie?

I'm sorry Cuthie! I do feel for ya girl! I just took the kids there for dinner tonight. I swear, the place is going down the tubes. It's my favorite place, but lately (maybe just this location) the food hasn't been that good. My son didn't finish his ribs because they were burnt (I myself prefer them this way!). The sweet tea was like water...very, very weak...and warm! I had to trade it in for a Coke. They used to always have the best sweet tea, ever. The chips and salsa are still excellent. I had the cajun chicken pasta dish. It was pretty good. Anyway, I thought something looked different. If there's a P.F. Chang's near you, they have some excellent lettuce wraps. You can make a meal out of them. ~Lisa

It seems like Chili's has starting to put black beans in everything that sounds somewhat healthy and I don't like black beans! I'll have to order and say -- hold the beans. Wah. We've eaten at Chili's several times in the past few months and you're right about the chips and salsa being yummiful but the rest of my meal makes my stomach hurt (it seems... probably the black beans). I'll have to try the Cajun Chicken Pasta...

We don't have PF Chang's but I've eaten there before. Yum! My goal is to learn to make my own lettuce wraps...

My friend has said she will not go back because they removed the lettace wraps. If you are on Weight Watchers that was a great thing to order because it tasted great and was not too many points. Maybe if enough people complained they would bring it back.

Oh, I was just thinking about this...I'm almost certain that they used to have my favorite...mozzarella sticks. They did away with them a long time ago. It's hard to find them at any of the chain restaurants. ~Lisa

They took away my teen sons favorite meal a few months ago. Tomato basil chicken pasta. I've never really cared for their food.

My dh and I are huge chili's fans. We love, love, love their food, the chips, the drinks and usually the service is very good. But I do have to admit, they have changed quite a bit, and not for the better, in the last 3 years.

But it is still one of our favorite places to go. We did go 3 X's a week, but now it is amazing if we go once every other month.

I haven't been there in probably a year. We are lucky to have so many "not chains" around here that are so good. I do remember those lettuce wraps though-they actually were pretty good. Sorry you can't get them anymore. Lisa's suggestion was good-those PF Change wraps are a must if you can get to one.

I found the recipe online so I'm going to try this at home: Meemo's Kitchen: CHILI'S® LETTUCE WRAPS

It's better to go to the non-chains anyway if you are eating out locally and know where to go.

It just saddens me deeply (ha ha) because it used to be that we could to to Chili's anywhere in the USA and know that I'd like at least ONE thing on the menu. Maybe I'll write a letter to Chili's corporate. As if they will listen to little ol' me whining about this.

Applebees/Cracker Barrel/Denny's will have to do until Chili's fixes this problem. I know what to order on their menus too. LOL.

Sigh.

Have you asked if they will still make them? I used to like something on Applebee's menu and they took it off, but would still make it if we asked.

I hate it when restaurants do that. It seems to be happening a lot lately. I guess its part of their cost savings plans but they are driving a lot of customers away.. I guess its really better for me though, I won't be tempted to go out as much.

You can't be serious!?! Now, I'm afraid to go check their site for the new menu. We loved the awesome blossom, chips with salsa and skillet queso. DH and I love the Monterey chicken. DD loves the Big Mouth bites. DS loves the kids rib plate. I'm off to look for the new menu.

Here's a link to the menu......

Menu at Chili's Grill & Bar

They still have our favorites but no Awesome Blossom. I used the website contact and complained stating that I would have to go to Outback for a Bloomin' Onion.

We don't go to Chili's very often unless it's happy hour for 1/2 price appy's in the bar. Their chips are salsa are okay but the chips are WAY too salty. I haven't been in over a month so I haven't seen the new menu. I always got fajitas or the asian glazed chicken bites with wasabi ranch. So hopefully, those are still there.

I LOVE lettuce wraps! We have a mom and pop asian restaurant here that makes them to die for. I have not ever had Chili's but I have had Changs and let me tell you, Changs doesn't hold a candle to these guys I feel for ya Cuthie. I hate when things change (and not for the better).

I saw a commercials where TGIFridays has changed. The commercial showed a dark atmostphere and the red and white striped shirts got ripped off (the waiters/waitresses are in all black now I guess) and said the menu is all new. We don't have one nearby so I don't know how the menu changed. I figure the companies are doing this because their sales are down and they are pulling at strings to try to "revive" it

Asian Lettuce Wraps - Allrecipes

I've made these and they are good...better than Chang's I think (but our Changs is really crappy) but not as good as my fave mom and pop. Maybe they will be as good as Chili's?

Ruby Tuesday's had the same type of commercial. I loved the part where the guy grabs the lamp off of the table and says "The 70's called, and they want their lamp back" LOL
I LOVE Friday's as well. Their salads and wings are to die for. I hope they are not changing. Of course, we don't go there enough to have a say in the matter. Again, maybe once a year.
When I was a sales manager, I ate out on a regular basis, whether it was entertaining clients or taking my employees out for lunch. I knew almost every good place to eat from here to Denver. LOL But that was 4 years ago, and now I have no reason to go out to eat other than with my dh for a night out.

We have been going out to eat at local establishments. One near us is awesome! It's about three blocks away and is an irish pub/eatery. The only other one I found like this was in Lake Tahoe. I love it! To me, he needs my money much more than Chili's or Fridays.

Oh, and PF Changs has awesome lettuce wraps!

I think that with most of the chains it just varies on the location...each one can be so different...although I've never had a bad meal at Applebees in any state. The Friday's here is nasty...dirty, bad service, and horrible food. You couldn't pay me to eat in there. I hate when I sit down and the first thing I notice is that the knives are not clean. Yuck! The Friday's I used to go to in NJ I loved. It had a great atmosphere and the food was delicious. Someone said that they thought Chili's chips were too salty. Funny because DD adds salt to them. Last night she started to sprinkle the whole dish and I had to stop her! I'm sure that all of the restaurants are taking a beating by the economy. Even the fast food places like Chick-fil-A. The kids love their food and we go there alot...but for three kids it's at least $18 for a meal with drinks. All this talk about food is making me hungry now! ~Lisa

Our Fridays is terrible, too! Used to be good, but last few times were awful so much so that I vowed to never go again....they couldn't give me a coupon big enough! LOL

chili's was always just ahhhh, ok to me. But my friends from work like to eat there. But I went there with DH and the kids and found out they have the shrimp fajita!! I was THRILLED!! I used to get them at Ruby Tuesday's, but they quit serving them so I quit going there. Now I can get them at Chili's, so for once there is something I really crave there.
Sorry OP that you are not having luck with them lately!

Here in VA it's very hard for me to stay and eat at chain restaurants. The government refuses to do away w/ smoking in public here and it's just really disgusting to eat while smelling smoke. {gag} I usually have to order it to go and even just waiting for the meal to come up to the front makes me nauseous. I tried to eat in the Chili's in Manassas 2 weeks ago and UGH. I couldn't make it through the meal.
