*****Ornament Exchange SignUp - Deadline Looming!*****

I've been a part of the ornament exchange and really enjoy it. I missed participating one year, didn't have the extra money, and the boys just kept asking when the ornaments were coming. They missed helping/watching me make them too.
I'm looking forward to this years exchange. There will have to be a few rules, of course.

1. I'm going to make the cut off at 30 people. We will end the sign up on September 30 if the cut off hasn't been reached at that time.

2. You make a Christmas tree ornament, one for each of person that signs up. Excluding yourself, unless you want to include yourself. ;-) I idea being that everyone will end up with 29 different ornaments, 30 if you include sending yourself your own ornament. (Exact numbers will depend on how many sign up.)

3. Ornaments should be handmade. NOT a mass produced ornament (one that has been factory made). They can be done in whatever medium you enjoy doing (crochet, cross stitch, hand painted, fabric, etc.). Include the directions to make your ornament if you so choose, remember you will need copies for 29 people.

4. You will mail your ornaments to me, postage to be paid by you, along with $10.45 The $10.45 is for postage to mail the ornaments to you. Please include delivery confirmation as you send your ornaments as will I when I remail all the ornaments to you. Pack your ornaments very carefully if they are breakable. (The $10.45 is for a flat rate priority mail box plus delivery confirmation.)

5. I need to receive your ornaments by November 15th. That way I will have enough time to separate them, rebox them and get them to you in time to decorate with.

6. If you sign up and decide you can't follow through, please let me know so I don't wait on your ornaments.

7. Include your username on your ornament. We might not be familiar with your "real" name.

8. I will set up a page of pix of the ornaments along with who made what. After everyone receives theirs, of course. I wouldn't want to ruin the surpize for anyone.

Laura - Are you sure $5 will be enough for postage for mailing 29 ornaments? Would hate to see you shortchange yourself....

I hosted this last year and I also charged $5.00 for shipping.......it wasn't enough money most boxes, you may want to charge more, like a flat rate box size, then you can also get the box for free, just makes it easier I think! Also if you didn't post this message on the arts & crafts forum, you may want to post there also.

My question is, should we mini package them up...so people know who made what? I would love to know who makes what ornament.

Usually everyone just puts a tag on their ornaments with, at least, their username so we know whom sent what.

Ok, I am going to take on this challenge. I am not crafty at all, so you all will have to know that I tried my best, and I will try very hard to produce something worthy of hanging on everyone's tree. I don't knit, I don't sew, but I know how to use a glue stick! Count me in-if you dare! Lynne
