How do you deal with non responding participants. My dd's want to do this. But I am now leery, I participated in the august adult and got nothing.

Fortunately, the last kid's exchange went extremely well. Everyone sent, posted and received. Unfortunately, every time I have organized an adult exchange, I've had some problems. When someone doesn't receive a package, I PM or e-mail the sender to inquire. A few times, I've had to send something out myself to make sure everyone gets a package. In that case, I don't let the negligent secret buddy join us again.

Can teens play too? Or is this more for the younger kids? My dd's helped with my secret buddy package and were just as excited as I was when mine came. They would love to do another one.....one dd is 16, the other is 19 (I know she is really an adult, but if her sister does one, she wants to too )

You can sign up anybody you want to. The more the merrier. When I did it before, I tried to match up sex/ages the best I could.
What do all of you think? Should I try to match them up, or use a randomizer like I do with the adult exchanges?

Your wish is my command!

I think it would be fun to try to match them up...it would be fun for a kid on one side of the country to get to know a similar aged kid elsewhere...just a thought!

I pm'd ya. Would love to have a neat package sent out to Pat @college. Of course, not so many ppl thinking that a 6'4, 18 yr. old kid would like a to be a secret buddy. but I am sure he would love to receive a random package-not one sent from his mom or grandparents. If there is still time, I would love to reciprocate.

You did real good on your matching. My dd's are so excited about the ones they got. They are already doing research and keep talking about how well you matched their likes.

THanks,
katamasmom

Whew!! Thanks for telling me! I do work pretty hard at matching up, but it's difficult at best. I try to keep the ages similar...but that all depends on who signs up. I hope everybody else is as happy as you and your girls!
