What's your favorite drink/cocktail?

What's your favorite drink and for what occasions do you enjoy it?

Thinking alcohol, but virgin drinks are OK too! I think I'm out of the loop on what the trendy drinks are these days.

Myself, I love scotch (Dewars) and water, whenever I'd like to take the edge off.
But I had a cold Guiness Stout last night and it was great!

What do you like???

Well, now I'd have to say a nice big old glass of cold sweet tea...or a COKE. But back in the day, I loved my beer...Budweiser all the way! ~Lisa

CJ, I don't think I can help you with trendy drinks because I'm pretty much old school. I don't drink alcohol very often, but when I do, I like a strong bourbon 7 made with Jack Daniels (or I.W. Harper, but I can't find that around here).

Margaritas, or vanilla vodka with cola or orange soda. Haven't been drinking because I've been nursing, so my last drink was after a funeral.

Juice of 6 lemons (when i'm lazy i use the bottle stuff)
4 tablespoons sugar
4 shots vodka
Ice in shaker
1 sugar-rimmed martini glass
Mix lemon juice, sugar and vodka in a martini shaker filled with ice. Shake well and pour into sugar-rimmed martini glass

There are different recipes out there just google it, I like this one the best.

Not a drinker here either....can't actually stand the taste of alcohol so if I ever do drink, it is something mixed/blended/fruity like a pina colada, daiquiri or some such. don't drink beer, wine or even champagne--unless it is in a mimosa with about 1/4 champagne and 3/4 o.j. so can't help in the "what's current" discussion...sorry

As far as alocohol goes, I don't like beer or wine ~ only sweet drinks like strawberry margaritas, strawberry daiquiris, pina coladas, etc.

My favorite non-alcoholic drinks are sweet tea, Orange Dream Machine from Jamba Juice, and Coffee Bean used to have an orange/vanilla drink called the Sunrise but they discontinued it awhile back.

I may have to try that vanilla vodka with orange soda that foryoubabyblue posted ~ yummy!!

Usually white wine in the summer, red wine in the winter, and an occasional dark beer. The only liquor I tend to drink is vodka-all the others make me too shaky/pukey, etc. Unfortunately, my "doing shots" days are over. Gosh, I can remember drinking my weight in Yager.....

I have several favorites. :-)

Jack and Coke
Blue Hawaiian
Champagne - Love it but don't have it often
Strawberry Daiquiris

Several others but I don't remember names well. At our favorite Steakhouse I have a drink that is served in a large mason jar. OMG, that is the best thing ever! After drinking one "jar" I have trouble walking and will be passed out cold shortly. Now I only drink half of the jar. I learned my lesson after the first time. DH saw what was happening and went to daring me to finish it off, lol, I did!!

As Caddy lisa said back in the day I did like any juice mixed with vodka but now we are going back way way way long time. I only used to have a occassional drink if we were in a bar or a wedding, however after awhile I just did not like how it affected me, One drink and that was it for me, as Caddy lisa said these days I love any and all icetea. Has anyone tried the pomergrante icetea from ruby tuesday its soooooooooooooo good. Peace. Catherine

Well, I have not had a drink of alcohol in 23 years and 10 months, but when I did drink, it was whiskey sours. I don't know what is new or popular.

My favorite non-alcholic beverage is sweet tea, grapefruit juice,

Screwdrivers are my standby. Vanilla vodka and coke is good too. Went out to California for a "ME" vacation and boy I LOVE MARGARITAS!!!!! I don't drink that often, maybe once a year and that's usually New Year's Eve and the DH drives because after 2 or 3 (maybe more I loose count) I'm in NO SHAPE to do anything but pass out!

I don't do a lot of alcohol drinking anymore but still have some favorites.
At brunch, a good scratch Bloody Mary, the spicier the better.
On a cold winter evening a shot of Butterscotch Snappes.
With dinner at a Mexican restaurant a rocks Margarita made with Hornitos.
Around the campfire when they pass a bottle my favorites are Tequila Rose or Capt. Morgan Tattoo Rum.

And I am not a beer drinker but my SO is a beer snob so I "taste" a lot of beer. Similar to the way people taste wine.

Gee for a person that doesn't really drink all that much that, that sure is a long list.

Hmmm.... How do I reply to this post without sounding like a lush? (LOL)

Nowadays, I drink maybe 3-4 times a year at the most, including New Year's and a glass of wine on holidays (most years not even that often). But back in the day, I could put away some liquor. (Ahhhh, those were the days. )

One of my all time favorites has always been White Russians. Although, I'm sure I've emptied a few barrels of Maker's Mark, Jack Daniel's and Jim Beam in my younger days. If I drink anything these days, it's usually a glass or 2 of red wine or a Coors Light.

Sounds like a LIT- Long Island Iced Tea

During the summer we have been drinking ice cold hard cider. Its surprisingly refreshing. We have also made strawberry daquiris and margaritas.

When it gets cold I love anything with Bailey's. Hot chocolate or coffee or even straight.

My mom used to drink those! Also, I remember in the '70s my parents drinking gin and tonics, black russians, bloody marys, and screwdrivers! ~Lisa

If you love Jamba Juice, here are some links to some flavors that are "secret" drinks you can order at JJ....they are not on the menu, but just order by name and they will make them. My DD and DS love the Sour Patch Kids and Starburst and Gummi Bear ones. Second link has a couple of recipes.

To Penny, I just wanted to tell you that that is wonderful! You must be really proud.

Congratulations! Are you planning to do anything in 1 year and 2 months to celebrate the big 25?

I am a wine drinker - Like Linny I drink white wine in the summer, red in the winter. I don't have the rest of Linny's drinking resume, though...

Alright, I could google the lemon martini, but there's no way I'm going to google the cowboy drink.

FWIW, I am NOT a big drinker by any stretch of the imagination....I drink maybe 3-5 times a year. And if I have more than one, I usually fall fast asleep....yeah, I'm a lot of fun. LOL.

If I'm having mexican food, I always have a margarita - on the rocks with salt.

I also love Jack Daniels or Rum & diet coke.

Vodka tonics are good. I like a martini and a cosmo once in a while.

I always have a glass of red wine with pasta or steak. I have white wine with grilled tuna.

I'm not much of a beer drinker, but occassionally I'll have a raspberry beer or a lite ale. The new Bud Limes are pretty good.

I usually have 1-2 drinks a week.

I'm partial to a good Jack & Coke - although anymore its usually Jack & Coke Zero or Jack & Diet Coke with Lime.

If I feel like splurging I'll make a modified old fashioned

Squeeze 1 orange and place the juice in a suitable glass (like an old fashioned glass).
Muddle in some organic natural sugar (the kind thats light brown in color, but free flowing like white sugar)
Add a few cubes of ice to the glass after the sugar has dissolved.
Add 1-2 shots bourbon to taste (or if you're out, rum)
Give it a quick stir and pour in a dash of mariscino cherry juice and then garnish with an orange slice and a mariscino cherry.

For more interesting ideas - try this website out. They'll let you search by ingredients etc etc

Ah, well its not so much what is in the cowboy drink that earned it its name (just Baileys and Buttershots) its how you drink it. You need a shot glass and a lap of a cowboy to drink it!

if you like raspberry you might want to try the lambic frambois. It is a raspberry infused beer.

Well I LOVE Hurricanes from Pat O'Brien's! Bloody Marys, Jack & Coke, Margaritas, Vodka and um...anything really. Bud light, Strawberry Margaritas, Daiquiris, and white wine.

I know I sound like a lush, but I usually only drink for sporting events, parades, or group outings! Promise!

Mudslides (must be the Icebox brand tho...)
Mango martini's or daquiri's
Margarita's
Yuengling Summer Ale (hubs turned me on to this )
Smirnoff Ice (raspberry or pomegranate flavor)

Non Alcoholic:

Snapple (Mango Madness)
Sobe (yumberry pomegranate or mango melon flavor)
Milk (with ice, nothing beats a cold COLD glass of milk)
