I wish I could do this with our electric company. Our bill was $100 more than what it usually is and we can't for the life of us figure out how.And since I'm the only one home 75% of the day ,It's my fault. I never use any electricity except for when I cook him his lunch that I bring to him at lunch time. The rest of the time I sit in the dark on my computer.I even bought an illuminated keyboard so I don't have to type in the dark.I love it too! |

Dollydeal check and make sure they read your meter correctly. The meter reader esp on my parents route never actually looks at their meter. Their bill is always wrong. They call the company and the company either says they will send someone out to check it or takes their word for it(it happens so often) and adjusts the bill. When we were cutting our bills a while back afte DH got laid off, we decided cable just wasn't important to us and tried to cancel it. We kept calling to cancel and told them it was just too high we couldn't afford it and they kept giving us free months. We probably got a year or more free until they finally let us really cancel it. Even then we kept getting please come back offers. We have gone many years without and for the most part don't really miss it. I love not having the kids toys adds that come out before Christmas. It really cut out a lot of begging but I digress. |

I agree with the OP. I call DirectTV every 6 months or so and ask them what kind of 'deal' I can get because I've been such a loyal customer for so long. I usually will get $10 off my bill each month for 6 months or a year plus they'll give me HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc. for free for 3 or 4 months. Last time I did it, the customer service rep told me to make sure I called back when the year was up and they'd extend it! |
