| Amazing kitten rescue story
We have 4 kittens under the porch, about 6 weeks old. I found one laying in the yard yesterday afternoon, unable to get up, just lying there limply! It seemed like her back legs wouldn't work. I had no idea what was wrong---whether an animal bit it, it fell off the porch or was run over or what! Fearing the worst, I hollered for my dd, who is going to school to be a vet tech to come look at it. She picked it up and said it was having trouble breathing. She looked in its mouth and there was a big chunk of cat food stuck in its throat! My dd had fed the mama a sample of wet cat food we got free at Walmart, but the kittens got into it too. She took a tweezer and pulled the food out, gave it a little mouth to mouth and massaged her lungs. Kitten resumed breathing on her own, but was very shaky and wobbly----I was afraid of brain damage from lack of oxygen. My dd gave her some milk with an eyedropper and sat up with her until late last night.
Kitten is fine today.....jumping and playing. We named her 'Lucky'!
