Happy Birthday! A friend of mine has a DD that is celebrating her 7th bday today. My friend went into labor early that morning and delivered shortly after 3pm. She had no clue anything was going on until after her DD was born. They have a really neat shadowbox thing that someone made for them to commemorate her bday and all those who lost their lives that day. |

My daughter's is tomorrow. She'll be 12. She complains every year that everything around her birthday has to do with 9/11, but each year it's more just on the actual day. My other dd was born during March madness, so I guess I hosed them both! DH, my doctor & anethesiologist (sp?) were watching basketball while I was in labor. ![]() Lisa

My daughter's is tomorrow, too. She'll be 11. I remember her birthday in 2001. She was turning 4 and we had family visiting from out of town just for her birthday. None of us really felt like celebrating after the towers fell. Unfortunately, at 4 she just didn't understand why we weren't all happy about her birthday. |

First of all, let me say Happy Birthday to all of you born today. There's 365 days in a year, and the odds are that something bad's happened at some time or other in history on every one of them. Don't be ashamed to celebrate your life on the day of a bad anniversary. Life is what it's all about, for you and for everyone. Celebrate the life you have, the opportunities for good you can make for yourself and others, and the joy of being here. No better tribute can be made to those whose lives were lost than to live your fullest and treasure the gift of life. ~Lisa |

My daughter's birthday is today too. She was in her 2nd year of college when the attacks hit. She said she wanted to change her birthday because it would always be remembered as such a terrible day. She has since reconsidered and celebrates her day on 9/11. It's true what Caddy Lisa said...celebrate the life you have, live life to the fullest. Life is too short!!! Happy birthday to all the 9/11 people!!

First I want to wish anyone born on this day a very happy and healthy birthday. Yes it a ver sad day especially here in New York, where this happened I live about one hour away. I too know the feeling too well of having a bad birthday. I was born on April 20, which is the same day as the Columbine School attack, which the killers picked that day because it is also Hitlers Birthday and also national pot day. I too have often said I wish I would have had another day as my birthday. But I cannot change that, there are many other people born on other bad days in history as well. So like the others say. life is too short and enjoy your special day to the fullest always and forever, birthdays are special they only come once a year. What about people that are born on February 29th which only comes every 4 years. My dh's nana is her birthday, so each year then we do not have a 29 she just celebrates on the 28th.... Peace to all. Catherine
