Wow, I remember those days. It sure does tug at your heart, doesn't it? You'll have more of those moments. Cherish every one of them!

I remember when one of my boys moved out on his own. He had packed up everything and I was standing at the door waiting for him to leave. He got to the door, turned around and looked right into my eyes and said, "Thanks for everything, mom," and gave me a big bear hug.

Guess that's when you know you did okay.

I'm with you, too. My 13 year old needs to start, and I keep dragging my feet. He's my last "little boy", though he's bigger than I am.

I am finding fewer and fewer people at the dinner table, and that's when it can really hit me if I am having a melancholy day.

I miss my babies.

I had to go through this same thing this summer with my 16yr old ds for summer camp. He had to cut his hair short and shave for camp. When he came out of the bathroom clean shaven, I didn't recognize him. He looked so young. I was so used to him with long hair and beard, I didn't realize how much older he looked, til he shaved. After I dropped him off at camp, I went back to my hotel and cried.
Where did my baby go? (sniff, sniff)

Awwww, I know how you feel!

I had a moment last night. My 15 yo ds did the polka with me at the Oktoberfest. It was so sweet and endearing!

My 15 yr. old son would rather have his pitching arm amputated than dance the polka w/ me-exactly how much beer did you let your son drink at Oktoberfest????lol...
The shaving thing didn't bother me so much. The deodorant thing did-especially when three of my sons needed it around the age of eight. Now just waiting for the baby (he's six) to stink. Thank goodness for deodorant coupons.

Oh good.. we just got my 7yr old to start using deodorant. It's horrible after he's been running around. Glad at least that we're not the only ones. I thought this was way too young, but Dr. said it's not unheard of.
