My 10 yr old d/d was with a friend's family at a football game last night, and hurt her wrist. Seems the girls were practicing some cheers, and she was on her girlfriend's back when she was dropped.

Didn't want to subject her to the delight of the ER on a Saturday night, so we iced it, wrapped it, gave her some Motrin and hoped it would be better this morning. It's not. Thought our pediatrician could help us today as they have Sunday a.m. hours, but they said they have no place to send us for x-rays today, so we have to hit the ER or wait till tomorrow.

Soooo off we go, as soon as she finishes eating. Please keep a positive thought that it is not broken. My poor girl.

Is there an Urgent Care center nearby? I prefer those when my kids have injuries & dr's office is closed - much shorter wait time.

I hope your dd is okay - sending wishes for a fast recovery.

Sounds like a day in my house! Hope she's ok, and that you have a short way time at the ER.

the Urgent Care center's here are usually fuller than the ER. The one I took our neighbor to wanted 250.00 up front and when hi insurance paid, they would send the overage back. Took 5 months to get the overage back.

We're back, and it's broken. : (

The ER we use has a good pediatric system, and really try to get you in and out. She is in a temp splint, and we'll see the orthopedist for a cast tomorrow. She's really been very good about it.

Poor thing! I hope it's a quick recovery for her.

Glad she got the arm examined right away. This way, the pain can be treated and you are assured that she doesn't have a bleed in the area. Hoping for a speedy recovery for her.

Aw, that's too bad it's broken. I hope it heals nicely. My son has had broken bones and it was tough for him because he is so athletic and he also couldn't play his guitar for awhile.

Poor girl. I hope that she has a speedy recovery!!!

Sorry to hear it's broken. We just got DS#4's cast off on Tues. Tell her to go for the neon pink one. While I hope she is not in pain, she will be an instant celebrity in school-EVERYONE will want to sign it! Make sure to buy some sharpies.
