What are you reading now??

I was just in my Paperback Swap account and have a ton of credits that are just sitting there. I need some ideas of what to read. What are you reading now that you love or what books would you recommend? What have you read that wasn't worth the time? They don't have to be paperback, I'm also quite a regular at Barnes & Noble.

I just finished the Twilight series and I LOVE them. I have also been reading Elaine Viets "Dead End Job" series and Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series and have really enjoyed them. I would recommend any Laurie Notaro books, she's hilarious although a bit irreverent. I wasn't crazy about Chelsea Handler's books (My Horizontal Life & Are you There Vodka), she's just a bit too trashy for me and I am definitely not conservative.

What's on your nightstand?

Renee

If you are in the mood for a light-hearted, funny/sarcastic book, I just "Bitter is the New Black" by Jen Lancaster and loved it!

I am just finishing out the 14th book in the Stephanie Plum series. I started them a few weeks back and I cannot stop reading them. I got my mom hooked and she read every single one in less than one week! I read them because of a previous post and I LOVE the series. I have read several series' by Beverly Lewis relative to Amish families and I really love those as well but I am waiting for a new one to be released. I also love the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella. (Hope I spelled all of those names right). I didn't know that Christopher Paolini was releasing another book this month that is great news. It will give me another idea as to what I should read. "Amazing Gracie" is a great book about a dog, but it will make you cry.

I am reading Esclipse from the Twilight series. I'm eager for the movie to come out 11/21. I'm a little bit disappointed she won't be finishing the Midnight Sun book. I wonder if the first 12 chapters was really "leaked." I did find it and download it anyhow. I feel a little guilty for doing it but at the same time....I really want to know Edward's perspective though..oh my I need a life ha ha.

I am trying to read We Were the Mulvaneys, by Oates. While I am usually a very fast reader, this one is kind of hard to read. I am enjoying it, but hate having to read sentences over and over, just to try to stay focused. The author seems to be all over the place in this one.

I am reading "The Worst Hard Time" by Timothy Eagan - it is about the Dust Bowl and it is a fascinating read. I normally do not like history but this is great!

I am also reading the 19th wife which is about the start of Mormonism. (I am NOT a Mormon, I am a Christian that is reading it to learn how to witness to Mormons)

I've been in a reading frenzy. I am now reading SALEM FALLS by Jodi Picoult. Seems good so far. I also read Nineteen Minutes and My Sister's Keeper by her as well.

I just finished TRACE by Patricia Cornwell..gotta love Kay Scarpetta! And I also read all of Jen Lancaster's books..they are all just hysterical.

I'm reading Bungalow 2 by Danielle Steele right now. I'm almost half way through it and it seems kind of slow. The typical Danielle Steele tragedy to the perfect beautiful woman hasn't happened yet.

I read My SIsters Keeper, it's the only one of hers I've read and it was GOOD, really a must read!

I've been reading Lisa Gardner and Debbie Macomber(not sure if that's right) fast ,easy reading I can finish in an afternoon but not really any substance to them. ANd the price was right so I can't pass it up.

Just finished The Devil's Bones by Jefferson Bass. It was their third in a series...the Body Farm Novels. They are written by two authors, one is a real life forensics guy so there is alot of factual information. Currently reading The Giver by Lowry, my son is reading it in school so I thought I'd give it a shot. After that I have She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb, my neice read it for school over the summer and loved it, as did a friend of mine.

I spent a week at a workshop with the authors of these books a few years ago. Dr. Bill Bass is amazing! He is an amazing story teller. I'll have to check out these books!
