What supplements do you take?

As I get older, I feel like I need supplements

Right now, I take :

Multivitamin

Omega 3 Fish Oil (just started this 2 weeks ago)

Magnesium (only when I begin having foot/leg cramps)

What do you take?

I really feel the difference when I forget mine for a few days. I try not to over do it. I only take a multi-vitamin and cod liver oil capsules but I am debating adding a b-complex. Getting older is a beotch.

That is what I take for now but I am thinking about adding a supplement for joint health. Seems like now that I am working full time and I am on my feet all day that my knees are taking a beating.

I can feel it too if I miss a few days, I start getting fatigued (more so than usual).

On my doctor's advice, I take.....
multi vitamin w/iron
iron supplement (anemic)
super B-complex (nerve damage)

I also take.....
calcium w/D
garlic
flaxseed oil (fish oil makes me burp fish all day, yuck!)
cinnamon

Both came in huge quantities from Costco. Their Calcium + D sugar free chocolate chewables (Kirkland brand) are a nice treat.

I take the following: 2 multivitamins, 1 iron, 1 b12, 1 stress complex b with c, 1 ginko biloba. These help me get through a 12 hr shift.

I don't know what MsMiser takes cinnamon for, but I take it to help keep my blood sugar under control.

Cinnamon is supposed to help with diabetes.

I take daily:

1 Centrum multi-vitamin
1 500 mg Calcium + D
2 1000 mg fish oil
1 baby aspirin

My doctor has asked me to take: Multivitamin, B-Complex, Iron, and Calcium. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

As tamommy said, it's to help control blood sugar. I'm not diabetic (yet), but diabetes does run in my family, so I guess I'm just hoping to delay it.

I take calcium pills and a multivitamin daily.
That's all im taking at the moment.
I ran out of my Fish oil.

This thread has helped me a lot. I think I'm going to add a B complex and Calcium supplement the next time I go shopping.

susiecat - be sure to get a calcium supplement with vitamin D. My doctor has me taking this and he said that there are many studies now that show calcium is (okay my mind went blank....)better absorbed with vitamin D??? I think thats it. I'll look it up though to make sure about the absorption thing. But I do know my doctor told me about this.

Geesh a mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Okay I looked it up and it helps with absorption. Also can be a benefit in weight loss and reducing risk for certain cancers.

Thanks mudpuppy! I also did some research and read to take your calcium supplement at a different time than you do your multivitamin, because the calcium could stop absorbtion of certain vitamins.
