I was just reading the book thread and got to thinking about books I've read that I've loved and other have hated and books I've hated that everybody else seems to love. Here's a few that came to mind

LOVED:
The Time Traveller's Wife - one woman in my book group refused to read it!?!
Middlesex
Water for Elephants

HATED:
My Sister's Keeper -- the ending made me mad -- if you've read it, you kwim
The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion -- I felt used and abused after reading it

I'm sure there are more that will come to mind. Feel free to add your own list of Love/Hate

Well a book series that I totally LOVED & Hated at the same was the Twilight series. I LOVED them so much it was an obsession to get them all read & finished, which I read them all in less than a week. I was soooooooooooo happy to be finished with them, because it consumed me.

I loved anything by Alexander Mc Call Smith. His series of the ladies number one Detective Agency was wonderful. He is still writing the books!
