your favorite magazines?

I received a school fundraiser in the mail for a family member to purchase magazines. I am not one to read too many, but would like to order for her to get credit for her class. What are some suggestions of magazines that you like to read?

Have any of you tried Real Simple, All You, Travel + leisure, Southern Living and cooking light?
These look interesting, but I would like some feedback

Any other suggestions are more than welcome!

Family Fun is a great magazine that is usually offered. Lots of ideas for families including craft projects, holiday fun, etc. It would make a great gift for a young family or Teacher!! HTH
Also, both of my sisters read Real Simple and really enjoy it!!

All You usually has great coupons in each issue, that more than make up for the cost of the magazine. Not a lot of substance to the magazine, but it's a nice light read. My mom subscribes & passes it on to me.

I love Real Simple, Women's World, and First for Women the best. All You has "millions" of coupons in each issue usually at least $50 worth.

I did love Quick and Simple alas it is no more! If you can get Figure magazine, it's published by the company the owns Lane Bryant, Catherine's and Fashion Bug (FB has clothes in big and small) it is less than $20 for two years and every single issue has coupons for all three stores so the first coupon was $20 off of $50 (even sale items up to 30%) so that is a great saver but not a good magazine.

The three I mentioned at the beginning I have found to have the best tips for cooking, fashion, saving, household, etc and accessible to normal everyday women who don't have $100,000 to redo the house and who don't spend $500 on shoes and pants.

I got Good Housekeeping, Readers Digest & Rachael Ray from the kids fundraisers. I am letting them all expire. I'd like to get People, but won't pay that much for it. It's like $56 for 3 months or something like that.

EEK! People is $38.00 for 17 issues. That seems really expensive! i guess they need to pay for the pictures somehow

It's weekly versus monthly, which makes up for part of it, but that's just insane. At one point I had myself convinced to drop all my subscriptions and only order People. But it was still more expensive.

The girl's middle school switched to trash bags this year instead of the magazines, so I'm not renewing any of them!

Good luck deciding - I always look at the cooking ones first. I used to get one called She Knows Low Carb, but they discontinued it. I don't low carb, but liked some of the ideas in the book. My DD got double credit for Readers's Digest and that was small, so I kept it in the console of my car so I had it with me in the school pickup line. The Rachael Ray one is ok, but I don't love it. I don't care for Good Housekeeping at all - I'm not sure what I was thinking on that one!

I also ordered each of my girls one. Youngest got Highlights, oldest got a combo of Seventeen & Cosmo Girl. They like theirs.
