i wouldnt worry too much about it, if you post something somebody doesnt agree with someone will neg you, just because, I dont worry about it or pay attention much, I did just thank someone that gave me rep back in august and I just saw it this morning. Kinda goes with the number of posts, you could have a huge number there but that only means you have alot to say not if it was worth it for others to read heheh

Welcome, JoyEllen! I think there's also something about reaching 50 posts - once you have 50, I think your rep power will actually be able to read a number other than ZERO. Then whenever somebody rep's you, it goes up by one. I'm going on what I *think* I remember reading way back. Not sure of the accuracy of my info...

Welcome! I had taken a vacation from the board when they started the rep thing. I was confused by it too (still don't really have it all figured out) and way behind everyone else.

The reps are not one for one. There's some kind of sophisticated mathematical formula behind them. Giving reps also gets you rep, posting gets you rep, and a rep doesn't automatically increase your power.cj/

| OK, I'm going to ask, what is a flame suit? and how many points does it take to get one, if that's how it works? I also what to thank members for rep points- :-) "THANK YOU" I'd put a pretty picture up if I knew how!

| Just curious, Dolly, were you one of the ones that signed up under a "secret" name to snoop??? Rhetorical question of course. It's actually a great sight, and many people have joined and find it quite refreshing

| I used a different username, yes. I use a different username at a lot of forums.I don't like using the the same username everywhere I go.As far as snooping ,I also usually do that for awhile at most forums I go to before posting. Most forums don't force you to post to remain a member though.

![]() no, they weed out those people who join, but don't make an effort to become an active member. It's kind of like joining a Gym--it doesn't do any good if you don't USE the membership.

| Why, in the name of all that is holy, would you NOT post? Why would you join, just to read? Unless it was a case of you wanted to see what all the cool kids were talking about...Or you just wanted to lurk and gather information for goodness only knows what reason. And since TLJ is a small, privately owned board---the owners get to make the rules. Either play by their rules, or go home. The jealousy by members here, who couldn't handle it at TLJ is ridiculous! If you didn't like it there, couldn't hack it there, or whatever--why do you feel the need to constantly bring it up?

OK,I have NO idea what all this is about, and I'm not going to ask...feels like bad vibes to me. I'll go post something else that hopefully won't get people in an argument---- WTF? I agree with the trainwreck...

Look at all the green bars you have, JoyEllen! You go, girl. You are wise to just ignore this constant bickering over the other forum that some of these ladies belong to. cj/

Well, I kinda thought that rep power was an indicator of the contribution that users are making to the forum. It's somewhat complimentary to post count (although post count figures in as part of rep power). Not to call her out, but Cuthie has a relatively high rep power.....and gosh, she's just one of the nicest and most informative posters on these boards....Same for Buckeyeatheart....see how that works!! I try to rep people who post deals, freebies, etc as well as those who post great insight or experiences. cj/
