Is there a song that makes you cry when you hear it?

I was listening to the radio today and I had to turn it off, this song came on and it just makes me cry.

YouTube - Tim McGraw - Live Like You Were Dying

Do you have any that are just too much for you to listen to?

Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven.

It makes me think how horrible and devastating it must be to lose a child.

Amazing Grace - I will ball my eyes out every single time. We sang it to my grandmother as she was taking her last breaths.

Pretty much any Journey song, especially.. When You Love a Woman.
My husband used to sing this to me. We played Journey and Aerosmith, 2 of his favorite bands at his funeral last year.

This new country song - I think it's called "You Can Let Go Now, Daddy"

I have almost had to pull over, since it comes on pretty frequently. It catches me off-guard.

Also the song "I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe.

The other songs you guys have mentioned are very powerful ones, too! Especially "Live Like You Were Dying."

I'll Fly Away (hymn)

I don't really cry tears of sadness as much as the song just really touches me and comes to mind every time someone passes away.

Also, Have You Ever Really Love a Woman by Bryan Adams.

there are a few. The number one is amazing grace that was my daddy fav. song and if it hear it even in church I will cry embarrassing tears even though I try to hold them back. I do good or the best I can until the last verse and I swear in my head I can still hear him singing it off key but loud and proud, then the tears come.

Turn the wine back into water makes me cry everytime

go rest high on that mountain

i cry at and i dont know if this is the title but will you remember me if you see me in Heaven.

"One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey............everytime I hear it I think of the poor young mother, she lived a couple doors down in my apartment building, that was murdered while her baby was home with her. It tore me up!!! This song was very popular at the time and was constantly on the radio so it reminds me of that time and how precious and short life can be!!!!!!!!

My daughter always looks to see if I'm crying when that song is playing I put it on my hubby's IPod. He thanked me for putting on there and told me when he heard it the first time, he bawled his eyes out.

Goodbye My Friend by Linda Ronstadt

It was played at a funeral I went to years ago and I've never forgotten it. Here are the lyrics:

Oh we never know where life will take us
I know it's just a ride on the wheel
And we never know when death will shake us
And we wonder how it will feel

So goodbye my friend
I know I'll never see you again
But the time together through all the years
Will take away these tears
It's okay now
Goodbye my friend

I've seen a lot things that make me crazy
And I guess I held on to you
We could've run away and left well maybe
But it wasn't time and we both knew

So goodbye my friend
I know I'll never see you again
But the love you gave me through all the years
Will take away these tears
I'm okay now
Goodbye my friend

Life's so fragile and love's so pure
We can't hold on but we try
We watch how quickly it disappears
And we never know why

But I'm okay now
Goodbye my friend
You can go now
Goodbye my friend

"Anything for You"

by Gloria Estefan came out right when my H.S. boyfriend broke up with me. One day it was on in my car when I was driving and I saw him and his new girlfriend walking by the side of the road. I was a mess.

My mom would turn the radio off every time it came on so I wouldn't hear it. I still think of him when it comes on.

Funny now though.. it's 20 years later, we are both married with kids, and we still e-mail frequently.

I know this is kind of hokey, but The Star Spangled Banner can make me cry. I love that song, the whole song, not just the first verse you hear at ball games.

aaawwwww That's so touching. Don't be embarrassed, don't hold them back.... just let them flow and make sure you have lots of tissues.

There are several songs that make me cry if I hear them. Most of them bring tears of sadness because they remind me of when DH and I were going through some bad times..... so, I'd rather not think about them.

Two songs that move me to tears because they just simply touch my heart are......

O Holy Night - Jessica Simpson (I just love the way she sings it, very powerful.)

Song for a Winter's Night - Sarah McLachlan (It's just a moving song.)

.

The Star Spangled Banner and Taps get my everytime.

The Star Spangled Banner gets me because I think of all of those past and present who devote their lives to protecting us. Taps I have heard way to many times over the last few years, and I cry when I hear this, for two reasons.....One I am terribly upset for those that we have loast, and I also cry because I can't help but be thankful that they aren't being played for my family.

PBS here, is having a fund raising period, (but then when aren't they?), and on Saturday they did a John Denver special. He has always been one of my favorites and just seeing him and listening again, to his songs was so sad.

And What a Wonderful World by Armstrong, is just great too.
